The 10th Anniversary Ram 1500 Longhorn Edition is Shockingly Affordable
Please help us in wishing the 2021 Ram 1500 Limited Longhorn a happy anniversary. It’s the 10th anniversary of Ram as a stand-alone brand, and the Ram 1500 Longhorn 10th Anniversary Edition brings some luxurious southwestern flair without running up the price.
The 2021 Ram 1500 Limited Longhorn 10th Anniversary Edition is affordable
To celebrate 10 years of being a stand-alone brand, we expected the Ram 1500 Limited Longhorn 10th Anniversary Edition to come with a high price tag. Instead, it’s a luxurious truck that only begins around $58.565, including the $1,695 destination fee.
We know how it sounds to say ‘only begins around $58,565’, but this is a deal compared to rivals. The 2021 Ford King Ranch starts around $56,330, but the top of the line 2021 Ford F-150 Limited trim begins around $71,160. Ram could have easily pushed the Limited Longhorn trim to over $60,000, especially with all of the extra luxuries it includes.
2021 Ram 1500 Limited Longhorn Edition features
The Limited Longhorn trim is the most luxurious trim level that the Ram 1500 has to offer, and this year Ram has added southwestern-themes to spice up its appearance.
The 10th Anniversary Edition is adorned with a chrome-plated grille, chrome bumpers, a chrome headlight header, a unique tailgate badge, and new 20-inch wheels.
The 20-inch wheels are available with multiple finishes to choose from. You also get tow hooks, adaptive LED headlights, and side steps included as standard equipment. But we fail to see the southwestern theme on the exterior.
In the interior, Ram went to town with extra luxurious features, including a new leather-wrapped dashboard, suede door inserts, and leather seat inserts on the bolster with a southwestern design for a unique style.
According to AutoBlog, the Ram 1500 Limited Longhorn comes with a Mountain Brown interior color with featured hammered aluminum accents, a 10th Anniversary instrument cluster with a graphic badge, a metal pedal kit, glossy black shifter cap, and a brushed-zinc bad on the lid of the center console. The cabin also features an ornamental door design, leather, and real wood trim.
2021 Ram 1500 Limited Longhorn Anniversary Edition power
The 2021 Ram 1500 Limited Longhorn trim is available with the 5.7-liter V8 engine with 395 hp and 410 lb-ft of torque. This trim is also available with the 3.0-liter V6 EcoDiesel engine that pumps out 240 hp and 420 lb-ft of torque.
It’s unclear why the beefier 6.2-liter V8 engine option isn’t paired with the Limited Longhorn Edition. Also, this truck is only available in the Crew Cab body style, but you can configure it with the 5-foot-7-inch or 6-foot-5 bed length.
Aside from the new 10th Anniversary Limited Longhorn Edition, the 2021 Ram 1500 isn’t seeing many changes. After its major refresh in 2019, the Ram 1500 doesn’t need new updates yet. But there is a new head-up display, and camera-based rearview mirror.
The optional trailer package also now includes a reverse trailer steering control system along with light diagnostic and tire-pressure monitoring for your trailer. A new slow-plow prep kit also adds an ample alternator, truck-side plow wiring harness, and a rear power-sliding window with a defroster.
