Some may think that the Ford Mustang is a cliche of a sports car. Even so, after all these years, the hype for this Ford is justifiable. Buying a new Mustang is relatively affordable. But if you’re interested in shopping used, you’ll see that the 2019 Ford Mustang is one of the best versions to buy.

Enthusiasts know that the Mustang started the pony car revolution. The current generation of this legendary car still pays homage to the original by being fun, powerful, and stylish. Respected critics especially praised the 2019 Mustang for its thrilling performance options and everyday practicality. 

The Stang is versatile enough to appeal to diverse drivers. If fuel-efficiency is one of your main priorities, you’ll want to stick with the base model. Base models have a 2.3-liter EcoBoost four-cylinder engine that produces 310-hp. This four-cylinder makes for a quick driving experience and has an impressive EPA rating of up to 25 mpg overall. 

We get it if you want a more powerful experience, though. Many reviewers praised the GT models that come with 460-hp, 5.0-liter V8. Mustang GT models can go from 0-60 mpg in 4.5 seconds. Base models and the GT trim are available with either a six-speed manual or a 10-speed automatic. 

For a little more speed, there’s the special edition Bullitt trim that has a 480-hp V8 engine. Separately, Ford offered the Shelby GT350 and GT350R variants that feature a 5.2-liter V8 that produces 526-hp. The Bullitt trim and Shelby models are only available with the six-manual. The 2019 model year is one of your last opportunities to get your hands on a Mustang GT350 or GT350R since Ford killed them off in the fall of 2020.

Naturally, the Mustang offers customizable cabin experiences too. Standard versions have seats for four people, but space is limited in the back row, as you can imagine. What reviewers really appreciated is how Ford mixed retro and modern styling into the 2019 Mustang’s cabin.

While it’s available with premium features such as heated and cooled front seats, its mediocre plastics and cozy Headless Horseman–only back-seat area are demerits. “

Base models have cloth upholstery and a few connectivity features, including a 4.2-inch infotainment display and Bluetooth. You’ll want to go up at least to the EcoBoost Premium trim for more frills, including leather, a larger infotainment screen, plus Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. The GT350 and GT350R trims have more distinguishable interiors with suede surfaces.

Reliability is a selling point too

The 2019 Ford Mustang is also an excellent choice in terms of reliability. Consumer Reports gave the model a perfect five out of five for predicted reliability. There are no significant complaints about the 2019 Mustang, and owner satisfaction scores are exceedingly high. You can expect to pay between $23,225 and $54,775 for a 2019 Mustang depending on the milage.
