The 2020 Genesis G90 is an impressive car. From its diamond-inspired grille to its lavishly appointed interior, this sedan knows just how to please. We aren’t the only ones impressed by the 2020 G90 either. This year’s model also left the team at Kelley Blue Book equally impressed.

According to Kelley Blue Book, what stands out most about this year’s model is both its modest price tag and the automaker’s “old school approach to luxury.” Treat yourself to a fully-loaded 2020 G90, and Kelley Blue Book says you’ll be spending less than you would to get behind the wheel of a comparable V8 BMW 7 Series or Mercedes-Benz S Class.

What’s under the hood of the 2020 Genesis G90?

Pop the hood of the 2020 G90, and you’ll find a standard 3.3-liter turbocharged engine that generates 365 hp. For an additional $2,500, Kelley Blue Book recommends opting for the 5.0-liter V8 for a whopping 420 hp.

Also standard on the 2020 G90 is an 8-speed automatic SHIFTRONIC transmission. Use the steering-wheel-mounted paddle shifters, and you’ll find yourself enjoying every moment that you spend behind the wheel of the 2020 G90.

For Kelley Blue Book, the 2020 G90’s four drive modes also left a lasting impression. When in Sport mode, Kelley Blue Book says it experienced quicker shifts and better throttle response. Don’t let that convince you that the 2020 G90 is meant to be a sports sedan, though.

While Kelley Blue Book says you can “hustle this full-size 4-door down the road with a certain amount of aplomb,” you shouldn’t expect it to provide you with the same driving experience that a sports sedan would.

Amenities abound behind the wheel of the 2020 Genesis G90

When it comes to the 2020 G90, it’s not all about what’s under the hood. Settle into the driver’s seat of the 2020 G90, and you’ll quickly understand why Kelley Blue Book says the G90’s interior is oozing with opulence. According to Kelley Blue Book, fine wood accents, soft Napa leather, and plush carpeting all add to the 2020 G90’s top tier interior.

Of course, the 2020 G90 has far more to offer than comfortable seating and a myriad of lavish interior finishes. The 2020 G90 comes standard with both a Lexicon premium audio system and wireless device charging for tech features. A head-up display and a surround-view monitor add to the G90’s many people-pleasing features.

How does Genesis compare to other luxury brands?

If you’re unfamiliar, Genesis was launched in 2015 and is Hyundai’s upscale spinoff. In 2020, Genesis earned itself several J.D. Power awards, including the J.D. Power quality award, the J.D. Power performance award, the J.D. Power dealership service award, among others.

With several awards to its name, how does Genesis stack up to other luxury brands? First things first, opting for a Genesis won’t break the bank. Unlike most other luxury vehicles, Genesis’ lineup is modestly priced. As Kelley Blue Book said, buy a fully loaded 2020 G90 over a V8 BMW 7 Series or Mercedes-Benz S Class and you’ll be saving rather than spending.

Genesis also offers concierge service. While many other luxury brands do offer similar services, it often comes at a premium. Meaning, even if you chose a Genesis, you won’t miss out on a premium ownership experience.

Is this luxury sedan the right car for you?

The 2020 G90 is a great car for those who long after a luxury sedan but aren’t quite ready to break the bank. Instead, opt for this modestly priced luxury sedan, and you’ll be the proud owner of a sedan that’s both well-equipped and well-outfitted.
