Jeep is the American brand most associated with off-roading vehicles, adventure-based SUVs, and durability. When America found out that Jeep would be taking on the task of blending its mountain-climbing Wrangler with the design of a truck, most questioned whether it could be done.

But Jeep premiered the Gladiator truck and everyone found out that it could be done, and done well. Here’s why the 2020 Jeep Gladiator might just be both the most capable and most comfortable truck in the segment.

The 2020 Jeep Gladiator doesn’t sacrifice comfort for ruggedness

When the 2020 Jeep Gladiator first graced the scene, most experts knew it would be Jeep’s rugged addition to the truck segment. But what surprised experts maybe most about the Gladiator isn’t its capability or capacity for adventure.

The Jeep brand managed to make a capable, but also comfortable midsize truck. Not just a feat for an off-roading vehicle, the Jeep Gladiator’s quality of comfort may just become the standard in which the truck segment to reach.

In U.S. News’ analysis of the most comfortable trucks of the year, the 2020 Jeep Gladiator steals the show as a newcomer. Out of 13 trucks in the segment, the Gladiator pulls into the third-most-comfortable position, falling behind only two other trucks.

But as these two trucks have decades-long experience with crafting quality trucks, the Gladiator’s entry is impressive. Even as the newest (and most capable) truck in the ranks, its comfort and interior quality outshine the rest. Comfortable to drive, ride in, and trail blaze with, the Gladiator is truly making waves in the midsize truck segment.

The interior of the 2020 Jeep Gladiator isn’t like most other midsize trucks

The Jeep Gladiator earned a top spot on U.S. News’ list of most comfortable trucks with a great interior score of 8.5/10. Calling the 2020 Jeep Gladiator “unlike any other compact truck,” U.S. News experts say that its “interior is attractive and functional, with two rows of comfortable, adult-friendly seating and an easy-to-use infotainment system.”

There is comfortable roomy seating for up to five passengers, with plenty of head and legroom for everyone, as well as great visibility for the driver.

The interior of the Gladiator isn’t just spacious and comfortable, but well-appointed and handsome as well. Standard features on the interior of the Gladiator include a 5.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system, USB ports, and a folding soft top with a sunroof.

It looks wildly attractive, “but being functional is a high priority for this truck, which is why drivers can find all of the controls they may need within easy reach.” And as the Gladiator is designed for durability, the interior is even water-resistant.

A comfortable new entry to the midsize truck segment

According to Roadshow by CNET, the 2020 Jeep Gladiator “is currently the best off-road truck you can buy with class-leading towing of 7,650 pounds.” The same experts give the Gladiator an overall score of 8.6/10, ranking highest in performance and features categories. Although the Gladiator comes with a higher-than-average starting price for its segment, it may be every bit worth its price.

It features the same standard engine found in the Wrangler, a 285-hp V6 that provides plenty of power for towing, hauling, and traversing any terrain. The five-foot truck bed certainly isn’t large, but still functional enough for most jobs.

Unlike most vehicles, the Gladiator comes standard with a manual transmission, although an automatic transmission is available. And Jeep ensured the Gladiator came with additional cool features its fans would appreciate, like a fold-down windshield, removable top/doors, and extra driving modes for going off-road.
