Lincoln has done quite well for itself this year. This luxury car brand has particularly made a splash in 2020 with its flashy mid-size Aviator SUV as well as with old-time favorites like the Lincoln Navigator. Lincoln has also recently spiced up its luxury SUV lineup with the all-new compact Lincoln Corsair. Not only is Corsair SUV dashing on the outside, but its interior is also remarkable too.

When it comes to picking a luxury model, performance capability is extremely important. But a luxury model’s interior is right up there too. With the Corsair, you get a handsome and tranquil car cabin that’s completed with detailed trimmings. The Corsair’s cabin is so elegant in fact that AutoTrader awarded it as one of the best car interiors money can buy for under $50K in 2020.

The Corsair’s cabin is the near-perfect blend of polished and matte, plus its available in five different color choices. This compact SUV comes standard with a sharp-looking faux leather upholstery but of course, you have the option to upgrade to genuine leather. The Corsair comfortably seats five people and there’s plenty of head- and legroom throughout the cabin. You’ll also appreciate how supportive its seats are. 

Other standard interior features on the Corsair include a driver’s memory seat, leather-covered steering wheel, and easily adjustable heated front seats. This SUV also comes with a sliding rear seat for easy access. Additional upgrade options include ventilated front seats and a tilt and telescoping steering wheel. The add ons do get pricey though.

Safety and reliability 

The Corsair’s lavish interior makes it ideal for a getaway trip but its also a safe option too. This SUV earned a five-star safety rating from the Nationational Highway Traffic Safety Administration. The Insurance Institute for Highway Safety named the Corsair as a Top Safety Pick which is also a major achievement too. 

With the Corsair being an all-new model though, there isn’t much detailed information on its predicted reliability. Consumer Reports gave the Corsair a below-average reliability rating based on its evaluation of other Lincoln models. Most recently, CR ranked the Lincoln brand as 15/30 on its most reliable carmaker list. At this point, the Corsair hasn’t been recalled for any reason which adds to buyers’  peace of mind.

Additional items to consider

The 2020 Corsair comes with desirable infotainment features including an 8-inch touchscreen display, Apple CarPlay, a larger stereo system, and a wifi hotspot. Its infotainment system is very user friendly, and you can also upgrade it with navigation. In regards to advanced equipment, the Corsair offers automatic emergency braking, blind-spot monitoring, and pedestrian detection as standard features among many others. 

While the Corsair is a great choice for a luxury SUV, its biggest problem is its value. If you are happy with this model’s many standard features then you are in good shape. But with its starting price of $35,945, upgrades can get really expensive.
