The 2020 Porsche Taycan models come standard with an impressive instrument cluster that’s been converted into a massive 16.8-inch curved screen with “touch-sensitive buttons at its borders,” according to MotorTrend.

Calling it “easily the most impressive” feature, the curved instrument cluster screen uses “crisp graphics and a multitude of configurations for you to customize to your liking.” New owners can access features like full-screen map mode, which provides navigation directly to the display in front of you.

Also standard is another massive 10.9-inch infotainment screen in the center display, as well as an 8.4-inch auxiliary touchscreen with permanent control keys. Though the experts find the infotainment system may take a few minutes to learn, the primary screen is “likewise crisp and customizable.”

The auxiliary screen houses most of the Taycan’s controls and even allows you to search for options by spelling out letters on the touchscreen with your finger. An optional, identical, second, infotainment screen is also available for the dashboard on the passenger’s side. This allows passengers to access features without disturbing the driver. If you’re looking for displays, the Taycan has all of them.

What makes the interior of the Porsche Taycan so impressive

It’s not just the screens that stand out in the 2020 Porsche Taycan. Owners will find the push-button starter on the left side of the steering wheel and a gear-selecting toggle switch on the right. Though there isn’t much room in the back for passengers, most Porsche owners aren’t looking for a family hauler.

The cabin is extremely quiet, even at high speeds. There are multiple sound and audio packages available for the Taycan, though the standard stereo is enough.

There are a variety of interior colors and material options for Taycan owners; all lush and all expensive. Faux leather comes standard, though upgraded RaceTex and real leather are available. Owners can pair this to a variety of colors and materials throughout the cabin, such as wood, carbon fiber, and piano black plastic. Even seatbelts can be customized. In fact, Porsche claims that the Taycan offers “around 90 finishing options” for buyers.

According to U.S. News, the 2020 Porsche Taycan comes standard with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, Bluetooth, four USB ports, dual-zone automatic climate control, panoramic sunroof, navigation, and a slew of safety features like “forward collision warning, automatic emergency braking, lane keep assist, traffic sign recognition, parking sensors, a rearview camera, adaptive headlights, and rain-sensing windshield wipers.”

Available upgrades include an advanced portable charger, quad-zone climate control, night vision camera, and surround-view parking camera system.

Is a luxury, electric, sports car possible?

The newest, electric Porsche Taycan isn’t just pleasing on the inside. In MotorTrend’s testing, it was quick enough to beat its biggest competitor, the Tesla Model S P100D. In achieving this, the 2020 Porsche Taycan Turbo S variant “became the quickest (in time) and fastest (in speed) battery-powered electric vehicle” MotorTrend has ever tested, hitting 60 miles per hour in 2.4 seconds.

The base model 4S Porsche Taycan has a starting price of more than $100,000, according to Cars.com. Though not the quickest variant, it can still hit 60 miles per hour in roughly 3.8 seconds, with 522 hp. Zero-emissions, quick, and sharp; what more could anyone ask for in a luxury Porsche?
