Subaru noticed that the brake pedal mounting bracket was not correctly installed. It was believed that a bolt was either missing or insufficiently tightened. The lack of proper fastening of the bolt could potentially cause the brake pedal mounting area to malfunction.

Brake deformation over time could lead to a heightened risk of crash possibilities. Subaru notified the affected parties, advising them to take their vehicle to a local dealership for repair. Dealers were instructed to inspect and replace the brake pedal mounting hardware and, if necessary, replace the brake pedal assembly. All repairs were done at no cost to the Legacy owner.

The 2019 Subaru Legacy recall

The 2019 Subaru Legacy was not immune to recall issues either. More than 188,000 vehicles were affected by a recall that involved an improperly manufactured fuel pump. It was determined this issue could lead to cracks and engine failure.

Another recall was issued for the same model year. A minimal amount of vehicles were inspected due to possible issues caused by faulty welds. The integrity of the vehicle’s body strength was being compromised, increasing the risk of injury or crash.
