The Volvo SUV You Should Consider Buying
If you’re looking to buy a new SUV, the Volvo brand may not have crossed your mind – but it totally should have. In fact, the 2020 Volvo XC90 is an incredibly underrated luxury SUV that should be on your list of cars to test drive.
The Volvo XC90 is a 6 to 7 seat SUV built to take you on the road or off. Total combined horsepower between the standard combustion engine and electric motor (available for some models) ranges up to 400hp, enough to make this luxury SUV enough spunk to make for a great driving experience.
Trim Options
The XC90 has several trim options to fit any driver’s style or needs. Each trim package can be further customized with a selection of seating and drive train options, available for all trim levels.
All trim levels can be selected with:
– 6 seats or 7 seats
– Hybrid motor system
– Front-wheel drive or all-wheel drive
The Momentum Trim:
The Momentum trim offers luxury and technology, and all though it is the most basic model, it is by no means a compromise. The Volvo badge sits nestled in a waterfall grille, with a pair of LED headlights on either side accented by the ‘Thor’s Hammer’ daytime running the lights. The dashboard wraps around a large touch display infotainment that features both Android Auto and Apple Car Play.
R-Design:
The R-design trim exemplifies sport and luxury. The R-Design offers everything that the Momentum trim gives and then some. While sharing the headlights and fog lights of the base model, the front bumper features a more aggressive styling that gives the car it’s sporty look. Large alloy wheels sit surrounded by gloss black trim and metal mesh inlays. The interior features a beautifully upgraded ‘R-Design’ steering wheel and gear shifter with interior mood lighting.
Inscription:
The Inscription trim is the ultimate luxury design for the Volvo XC90. Like the R-Design, the Inscription trim offers everything that the lower model trims have as well as the addition of some new features or upgrades to the styling. The cabin is filled with leather seats, the front seats gaining heated and ventilated options. The Inscription also has one odd yet beautiful key feature: a crystal gear selector. The crystal gear selector is accented by luxury wood paneling details and leather detailing.
XC90 Additional Package Options
In addition to the wide range of trim options, the Volvo XC90 also has an array of add-on packages.
The heated rear seat and heated steering wheel package is ideal for families that live in colder climates. Along with the heated front seats, the second-row seats have access to three-temperature heated seats. The steering wheel also becomes heated for those frigid winter days.
Volvo also offers an Advanced Package that is jammed packed with cool features and quirks. Among the many upgrades, the advanced package gives the car a 360-degree camera for ultimate visibility and a heads-up display to accompany the dashboard.
Taking cues from the heated rear seat and heated steering wheel package, the Luxury Package offers the same heating functions along with the addition of one particular feature that you would expect only from cars in a much higher price range. The Luxury Package boasts a massage function for the front seats. If that isn’t the coolest comfort feature you’ve heard in a car, I don’t know what else is.
Amazing luxury SUVs don’t have to break the bank. In fact, the Volvo XC90 has so much to offer that it can really fit any driver’s preferences or desires. It’s almost like the designers at Volvo had a meeting and said “let’s give the people what they want” and they didn’t disappoint. While you may have been surprised to find out all that Volvo has to offer, I was too, and the XC90 is definitely an SUV worth considering.
