The 2020 Volvo V90 Is More Than Just a Pretty Face
Volvo makes a lot of cars that its customers love, and the 2020 Volvo V90 is one of them. The V90 is a luxury wagon that has a lot to offer customers other than a stylish exterior. Here’s a look at what’s so great about the 2020 Volvo V90.
The 2020 Volvo V90 is beautiful everywhere
CNET wrote that both the V90’s interior and exterior were simply beautiful to look at. Since it’s a wagon, the V90 has a long and short shape, and this gives it a rather unique look compared to most cars on the road. In fact, the V90’s exterior looks so good that CNET wrote that “the standard V90 looks handsome as heck.”
Since Volvo makes luxury cars, the V90 is also pretty beautiful in its interior, too. CNET said that, thanks to the materials that Volvo used in the V90’s interior, its interior is as nice to touch as it is to look at. Volvo used a lot of leather in the V90’s interior, but there are also some high-quality plastics in certain places.
Not only is the V90 nice to look at, but it’s also nice to drive. Volvo offers the same four-cylinder engines on the V90 as it does on every other Volvo, so there isn’t exactly a lot of choice on that front. That said, CNET wrote that it’s simply “easy” to drive the V90 around, since it’s just a comfortable wagon to be in.
The 2020 Volvo V90 has a lot of utility, too
While the V90 is technically a wagon, it’s practically an SUV in terms of the utility that it offers customers. It gets about 26 MPG combined, according to CNET, and that’s pretty decent for a luxury car of its size.
But, due to its size, especially its length, the V90 is also very spacious. In fact, CNET said that, when its second-row seats are folded down, the V90 gets about 54 cu. ft. of cargo room. This is comparable to many compact SUVs.
That said, while the V90 offers plenty of legroom and, potentially, cargo room, its short stature means that it doesn’t offer too much headroom. CNET said that this may be an issue for taller passengers who are sitting in the rear-seats, but Volvo offers a lot more utility to compensate for this problem.
For example, Volvo is well-known for safety, and the V90 has plenty of standard smart safety features on it. CNET wrote that the V90 comes with features such as automatic emergency braking, a pedestrian detection system, and adaptive cruise control. There are many other standard smart safety features, and CNET said that they push the V90 ahead of its competitors.
The 2020 Volvo V90 isn’t perfect
However, there are a few flaws with the V90. While Volvo has a lot of standard smart safety features on the V90, the V90’s standard infotainment system leaves a lot to be desired, according to CNET. The V90 has a 9.0-inch touch screen and compatibility with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, but its infotainment system, called Sensus, is simply glitchy.
Plus, CNET said that Sensus is also kind of hard to use, which won’t be convenient for many customers. What’s also not convenient for many customers is the fact that the V90 isn’t actually available in dealerships. Instead, CNET wrote that the V90 is an order-only car, and that simply makes it very hard to get for most people.
That said, with a starting price tag of about $51,000, CNET wrote that the V90 is a great luxury wagon that sits between Volvo’s other wagon options. It’s cheaper than the more expensive V90 Cross Country, while being more expensive than the smaller V60.
