The 2021 Audi Q3 is Surprisingly Affordable
Spoiler alert! The 2021 Audi Q3 is one of the most affordable luxury SUVs that you can buy. How can that be? It’s an Audi. Isn’t that brand only affordable for the super-rich? Apparently not, because the MSRP is lower than expected.
The 2021 Audi Q3 is shockingly affordable
According to Cars.com, the 2021 Audi Q3 is one of the most affordable luxury SUVs you can buy right now. When we opened their list of options as saw brands such as BMW, we were expecting much higher prices.
However, to our surprise, the MSRP of the new Audi Q3 begins around $34,000. Honestly, if we were drinking coffee right now, we would spit it out. Another luxury SUV to compare it to is the Jeep Grand Cherokee, which also has five seats. It has an MSRP of about $32,370.
So, it only costs about an extra $2,000 to get started with the Audi instead of the Grand Cherokee. However, keep in mind that these prices are before the destination fees and dealership markups have been added. These SUVs may be more expensive in your area.
What comes standard with the Audi Q3?
If you thought the base model of the 2021 Audi Q3 was going to be pretty bare-bones, think again. It has a 2.0-liter turbo-four engine that pumps out 228 hp and 258 lb-ft of torque. It’s connected to an eight-speed automatic transmission and can accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in about 7.8 seconds.
This isn’t the fastest or the slowest acceleration, but for a base model, it will pass people with ease. Plus, it includes all-wheel-drive as a standard option. With other vehicles, you usually have to pay for that upgrade.
You also get:
- Leather seats
- An 8.8-inch touchscreen multimedia system
- Tri-zone automatic air conditioning
- Heated front seats
- A power liftgate
- A panoramic sunroof
- Apple CarPlay and Android Auto
- Automatic
As a luxury vehicle should, the Audi Q3 has a comfortable ride. The eight-way adjustable driver’s seat includes ample lumbar support. The suspension damps out bumps and road noise too.
Car and Driver mentioned that the 2021 Audi Q3 feels nimble with smooth transmission shifts. It also provides a sporty ride and has composed handling around curves. The only drawback is a bit of turbo engine lag.
Audi Q3 features
The 2021 Audi Q3 is a little bigger than the previous model. It has more space for passengers in the front and rear, but taller people still might feel cramped in the rear. There are 23.7 cubic feet of cargo space behind the back seat with up to 48 cubic feet total.
Standard safety features include steering-wheel-mounted shift paddles, lane-departure warning, automatic emergency braking with pedestrian detection, and adaptive cruise control. The Audi Q3 is also an IIHS top safety pick+.
Spring for the convenience package to ass heated power-folding mirrors, an auto-dimming rearview mirror with an integrated compass, and LED interior lighting.
