Cadillac fans and tech lovers are going to be blown away by the CT4‘s latest addition. There is a lot of exciting buzz centering around a new, all-digital gauge cluster. Drivers can enjoy the convenience of the upgraded technology plus the comfort and luxury they’ve come to expect from the Cadillac CT4. 

In addition to the exciting new features available in the 2021 CT4, drivers looking for a bit of extra pep in their step will want to watch for the V-Series Blackwing. 

2021 Cadillac CT4: What do we know so far? 

The 2020 Cadillac CT4 was a brand-new arrival to Cadillac’s lineup, replacing the marginally smaller ATS (the CT4 is 4.4 inches longer). Since 2021 will only be the second year for this model, we don’t expect too many changes from the 2020 version. 

We don’t have all the details yet, but we do have the scoop on a few new changes. New color options will be available, along with 19-inch alloy wheels with Polished finish. New exterior colors (available at an extra charge) include Rift Metallic, Infrared Tintcoat, and Diamond Sky Metallic. 

The premium luxury and V-Series will have Super Cruise, a driver assistance system. The interior will also feature Buckle-to-Drive, a feature that prevents shifting from park to drive unless the seat belt is buckled. Along with these new interior additions, drivers will find wireless Apple CarPlay/Android Auto and the all-digital gauge cluster. 

The Diamond Sky Special Edition package is also new to the 2021 CT4. Exterior features in the special package include the Diamond Sky Metallic color, wheels with a Diamond Cut/Midnight Silver finish, and rocker moldings and extensions, among others. Inside the car, drivers will find a Sky Cool Gray color with Jet Black accents, Diamond Fall seat perforations, and wood trim. 

What’s so special about the all-digital cluster?

The most exciting change in the 2021 Cadillac CT4 is the addition of the all-digital gauge cluster, according to GM Authority. The 12-inch color reconfigurable display will replace the previous model’s 8-inch Driver Information Center version. The gauge cluster will only be offered through the Technology Package, which also includes an air ionizer and head-up display. 

The upgraded tech isn’t really surprising as most of the CT4’s top competitors offer impressive digital instrumentation. There aren’t any photos available yet, but we’re guessing the cluster will feature a few different options to fit each driver’s preference. They will probably have a choice between the classic gauges being prominent, or infotainment features, such as navigation, phone, and music. 

The CT4 also features GM’s innovative Global B electronic architecture. This cutting-edge technology improves functionality, from easy software updates and patches to enhanced connectivity and speedy communication between in-vehicle systems. 

Keep your eyes open for the CT4-V Blackwing…

The V-Series Blackwing is Cadillac’s latest high-performance model. Drivers were slightly disappointed in the 2020 Cadillac CT4-V, which many expected to be a high-performance vehicle. Turns out, the “V” merely indicated that the vehicle in question was a sport model. 

Cadillac listened to its audience and got it right this time around. The 2021 CT4-V Blackwing should pack the punch that drivers are craving. The specifics aren’t available yet, but Car and Driver speculates that you might find a twin-turbo 3.6-liter V6 under the hood, which packed an impressive 464 hp. Another option is the twin-turbo 3.0-liter V6, which comes in at around 400 hp. 

It’s expected that the rear-wheel-drive manual transmission will feature six speeds, while the automatic will have eight or 10. Several other features will add to the Blackwing’s power and speed, including firmer suspension, lower height, high-performance wheels and tires, and a lower height.
