The 2021 Chevy Equinox Could Save You a Boatload of Cash

Everyone wants a deal. No matter if it’s a free refill or managing to get a Playstation 5 for only $100 over retail, we all want to feel like we saved money when buying something. While haggling the dealership is not most people’s idea of fun, but if done right, you could leave feeling like you managed to win. These days car salespeople are doing away with the haggle, leaving us to shop for deals when the time is right. Well, for anyone looking to buy a 2021 Chevy Equinox, that time may be right now.

How much does a 2021 Chevy Equinox cost?

The 2021 Chevy Equinox starts at $23,800 and, depending on the trim you go with, can run up to $33,000. Typically these big sales will be for the base model, like the current sale on the 2021 Dodge Charger SXT. But in this lucky case, only the Chevy Equinox LT with AWD is on sale. Although it isn’t the top-of-the-heap model, it just so happens to be the coolest one, and the one Consumer Reports recommends.

Until the end of February, buyers can expect at least 18 percent off the 2021 Chevy Equinox LT AWD. According to Consumer Reports, some buyers have reported getting even higher percentage discounts. The Equinox is normally $29,100, but with the current deal, most buyers are paying $27,761, all settled.

Does the Chevy Equinox have a lot of problems?

Consumer Reports gave the 2021 Equinox LT AWD an overall score of 74/100. The main reason it didn’t rank better is that the previous model years had some issues with electrics and body integrity.

Other than the electrical issues, the Chevy Equinox has had few problems. As far as the mechanical side of things is concerned, the equinox has only improved over the years.

Is the Chevy Equinox a good car?

A 74/100 really sums it up. Everything seems to be really adequate. CR says the 170 hp 1.5-liter turbo four-cylinder engine is not a very peppy powerplant. 170 horsepower for an SUV isn’t really going to cut it, short of maybe a Suzuki Jimny. But, the Equinox ain’t no Jimny. The transmission is a bit of a bore too. It is a slightly jerky six-speed automatic that does little to help the sluggish motor.

The handling is in lockstep with the rest; it’s fine. According to CR, the 2021Equinox can take a corner without excessive body roll but will certainly not be giving the driver an abundance of confidence to hit corners with any real speed. Although the Chevy Equinox on sale right now has AWD, it is certainly not an off-roader. This drivetrain can help in rain or light snow, but certainly nothing even kind of counting as off-road.

It’s not fun but it works

More than likely, no one is buying a Chevy Equinox because they value flashy and exciting vehicles. No, this SUV is simply an economy vehicle whose price drop has only added to its promise to be a decent SUV in the lower middle of the price SUV price range.

Look, the Chevy Equinox is not an exciting vehicle; it just isn’t. However, that doesn’t make it a bad one either. For people looking to save some cash on an SUV and you don’t particularly care about what you drive, but only that it works and can afford it, the Chevy Equinox is for you.
