Prices for the 2021 Dodge Durango trims have been released, and this SUV has gone up in price. But is the 2021 Dodge Durango overpriced, or does it come with enough new features and upgrades to make it worth buying? 

How much does the 2021 Dodge Durango Cost? 

You can get started in the base model Dodge Durango SXT with rear-wheel drive for $33,290. This is a $930 increase over the 2020 model. Also, if you want the Dodge Durango SXT with all-wheel drive, then it will cost you $35,860. That’s a pretty expensive upgrade just for AWD instead of true 4×4 capability. 

The Dodge Durango SRT AWD, which is the highest trim option, starts around $64,490 and doesn’t go up in price. Also, if you would like for your three-row SUV to accelerate from 0 to 60 in 3.5 seconds, you can go with the Dodge Durango SRT Hellcat AWD for $82,490. 

What’s new for the 2021 Dodge Durango? 

The 2021 Dodge Durango received a slight makeover with visual cues for a more confident or aggressive look. It seems wider, like the Dodge Charger, which is exciting if you want a fast and sporty SUV. 

More improvements to the Durango’s look include LED headlights, running lights, grille, good, and a rear hatch spoiler. Three new grille textures are available as well that incorporate larger openings for enhanced cooling. 

If you want to tow, the Dodge Durango can tow up to 8,400 lb. This is the best in class towing.  However, the V6 engine maxes out at 6,200 lb. The Tow N Go package adds SRT wheels, Brembo brakes, and additional driving modes that include sport, track, snow, and tow.

Under the Dodge Durango hood, you will find a standard 3.6-liter V6 engine that pumps out 295 horsepower and 260 lb-ft of torque. This is a substantial amount of power on a base model, and you can upgrade to various V8 options, including the Hellcat engine for 710 horsepower. 

2021 Dodge Durango interior & tech 

The 2021 Dodge Durango received a much needed interior update as well. Previously, it was considered to be outdated. Now it has a roomier center console and an advanced instrument panel. An 8.4” infotainment center comes standard, but you can upgrade to a 10.1” screen. 

You can access the Uconnect 5 system that includes wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Also, the wireless charging pad conveniently sits before the center console. Two phones can connect via Bluetooth, and there are extensive Alexa and Amazon connection abilities. 

Each row has plush seats that are very comfortable. There is also enough space for adults to fit without feeling cramped. There are up to 85.1 cubic feet of cargo space. Plus, the added use of chrome and leather give the interior a more upscale feel. 

The base model Dodge Durango includes a tri-zone automatic climate control system, LED headlights, auto-leveling shock absorbers, keyless entry/ignition, alloy wheels, and heated side mirrors. You get a lot of power and luxury, making the refreshed 2021 Dodge Durango worth it.
