The new Ford Bronco is here, and people have been putting it to the test. The 2021 Ford Bronco was recently spotted trying to climb over rocks in Moab, Utah, which is Jeep Wrangler territory. Check out how well it performed. 

The 2021 Ford Bronco crawled over rocks in Moab 

We apologize, this clip shows the Ford Bronco going slow and climbing over rocks to test some of its off-roading features. Most fans are excited about how fast the 2021 Bronco can race across desert sand and jump dunes, but those videos are for another time. 

The Bronco Nation got an exclusive ride along with the Ford Bronco in Moab, Utah has it spent 13 hours spanning 33 miles of harsh trails. The Bronco tackled the Poison Spider, Golden Spike, Golden Crack, and Gold Bar Rim trails. 

But this Ford Bronco video isn’t the best

However, many viewers of the video complain that the music is way too loud. You can’t hear the sound of the engine or the scraping of the undercarriage against the rocks.

Also, the Ford Bronco trim isn’t mentioned. When going to the Bronco Nation forum, the trim is claimed to be a ‘mutt,’ so this doesn’t help buyers decide which option is best for crawling.

The video is 8 minutes long and consists of clips of the Ford Bronco slowly being directed up and down steep inclines. The music drowns directions being given to the driver, which is a bummer for those who wanted to hear what’s going on and learn about what equipment was used. 

What you can see is the two-door Ford Bronco ‘mutt’ slowly making its way over rocks and uneven terrain. It bounces, looks like the undercarriage smacks rock surfaces pretty hard, and carries on, just fine as Jeep Wranglers wait their turn.

The video also cuts to a four-door Ford Bronco tackling the same challenges. So, we can determine that the two-door and four-door Broncos can climb rocks in Moab like Jeep Wranglers can. 

However, we don’t know which trims were used, if the drivers used automatic or manual Ford Broncos, and which engines they had. Also, we aren’t sure what size tires were used and what the ground clearance of these Broncos was. This is all crucial information for off-roading. 

Ford Bronco off-roading trims 

There are six different Ford Bronco trims for 2021, making it hard to figure out which one is best. But the base model is already off-roading ready with a 7-speed manual transmission, four-wheel drive, an electronic two-speed transfer case, and more.

With the Big Bend trim, you get an additional Go Over Any Type of Terrain mode (G.O.A.T.) along with 17” grey painted aluminum wheels with 255/75 rubber and matching L.E.D. fog lights. The Black Diamond Bronco adds bash plates, a stronger bumper, 17” steel wheels, washable rubber mats, and a 7th G.O.A.T. driving mode. 

The Outer Banks is a luxury trim and has six G.O.A.T. modes. It includes remote start, Ford Co-Pilot 360 safety features, heated seats, L.E.D. lights, and more. The Wildtrak trim is the desert runner with 35” tires and a Baja mode for desert cruising.

The Badlands trim is the best Ford Bronco off-roading trim, despite not coming with the Sasquatch Package. It comes with steel bumpers, an exclusive suspension, hydraulic sway bar, 33” tires, and a rock crawl mode.
