The 2021 Ford Mustang Mach-E Just Got Competitive Discounts
The 2021 Ford Mustang Mach-E hasn’t even arrived in showrooms yet, but it’s already receiving a significant price decrease. Those who have already ordered their Ford Mustang Mach-E get to benefit from the discounts too. But why is the price being reduced?
The 2021 Ford Mustang Mach-E is getting discounts
According to PickupTruckTalk, Ford is slashing prices for the electric Mustang Mach-E. Depending on the trim level, the Mustang Mach-E is receiving a price drop between $1,000 to $3,000.
The base model 2021 Ford Mustang Mach-E has its starting price of around $44,995 reduced by $1,000. It comes standard with rear-wheel drive. The Mustang Mach-E model with all-wheel-drive begins around $46,695, including the $1,100 shipping fee.
Those with the premium model get to save $3,000 as the revised price is about $48,100 for the rear-wheel-drive model. The premium all-wheel-drive model now starts around $50,800. The California Route 1 model has a $2,000 discount, and the Mustang Mach-E First Edition trim is now $1,000 less.
The Mustang Mach-E GT trim still begins around $62,700. It’s the only option that didn’t receive a price cut. This could be because this is the most performance-focused option in the lineup. But it’s unclear why this model didn’t receive a discount.
Why is the Ford Mustang Mach-E getting discounts?
Ford is making a competitive move by reducing Mustang Mach-E models’ prices to compete with other electric vehicles. Ford is altering Mach-E prices to remain fully competitive in a growing segment that sees dynamic price changes.
More automakers are dipping their toes in the EV crossover pond. Recently, the Volkswagen ID.4 was revealed, and it could be a competitive option against the Mustang Mach-E. According to CarandDriver, the Volkswagen ID.4 will start around $41k, which undercuts the Mach-E’s price.
The original prices for the 2021 Mustang Mach-E may have been too high even though the Mach-E has a more value-based system. However, now the Mach-E should only start at about $3,000 more than the ID.4. Also, these last-minute price cuts will not affect the production schedule.
2021 Mustang Mach-E features
The all-electric Mustang Mach-E has a range of 300 miles, which is more than the Volkswagen ID.4, which has a range of 250 miles. Also, the Mustang Mach-E is expected to accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in under 3 seconds.
Plus, while the Volkswagen ID.4 is still figuring out charging at home, the Mustang Mach-E comes with a Ford Mobile Charger. This is definitely worth the extra cost. The charger will work with 120 and 240V outlets with 30 miles of range per charging hour. With a DC fast charger, you can gain a range of 61 miles in only 10 minutes.
With the eAWD, front and rear motors distribute power to each axle independently. This improves traction and control in the snow and other slippery conditions. It also provides exceptional acceleration and handling.
Also, unlike previous Mustang models, this Mustang is incredibly spacious. The backseat has plenty of headspace and legroom. Plus, the front truck area is durable and waterproof to store any gear.
