The 2021 Grand Cherokee Is Best Jeep Worth Waiting For
Before you buy the 2020 Jeep Grand Cherokee, you might want to take a minute to consider waiting for the 2021 Jeep Grand Cherokee instead. While the 2021 Grand Cherokee isn’t out yet, it’s expected to be a lot better. Check out what we know about the new Jeep Grand Cherokee so far.
The 2021 Grand Cherokee is Coming
The 2021 Jeep Grand Cherokee will change the game as it receives significant updates. It’s getting a massive redesign to begin the new generation of the Grand Jeep Cherokee. So far, rumors suggest that it will be on the Alfa Romeo Stelvio or the Giulia platform.
A larger wheelbase that’s wider than 114.8” inches is expected to provide a more comfortable ride for passengers. The larger exterior and interior will also offer more space for passengers and cargo. Some speculations suggest that the new Grand Cherokee could have a third row.
This is Jeep’s answer to complaints about the Grand Cherokee being too small and to better compete against more spacious rivals. The Grand Jeep Wagoneer is expected to come out next year, but it has an on frame body, so it won’t be as suited for off-roading.
2021 Jeep Grand Cherokee Performance
Of course, the new 2021 Jeep Grand Cherokee will be fast. We can’t wait to see which engine options will be available, including the V8 Hellcat that pumps out 707 horsepower. Various V6 engines, including a diesel engine, will most likely be available too. Plus, we would love to see a Hemi! However, will we see the hybrid option on the 2021 model? Jeep did claim that they will offer their entire line up with hybrid options by 2022.
The current Grand Jeep Cherokee is receiving complaints about having a slow V6 base model engine and an outdated interior. So, to keep up, it will need to have faster acceleration and a more comfortable ride. Maybe more noise dampening materials will be used, or we will see the addition of thicker, acoustic glass.

Fans also expect a few different trim options with the all-new Grand Jeep Cherokee. For example, a Trailhawk version is expected to dominate the trails, and a Trackhawk version should provide a fun and sporty ride.
2021 Jeep Grand Cherokee Tech
You can’t have a luxurious vehicle without modern tech features. Currently, the Grand Jeep Cherokee has a standard 5” infotainment center and an 8.4” option. Let’s get rid of the tiny version. The Ram 1500 has a pretty nice 10” infotainment center. Of course, the system will be able to connect to Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. It will probably have a Wi-fi hotspot, connect to Alexa, and your smartphone too.
The 2021 Grand Jeep Cherokee is expected to be safer to offset some of the complaints about the Jeep Wrangler not being very safe. Hopefully, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration will test it before the launch. Standard driver assistance features like lane-keeping assist, automatic emergency braking, pedestrian detection, and more should be included.
The 2021 Grand Cherokee launch has been delayed by Coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak, so we have to wait a little longer to learn more. Jeep has already returned to their American factories, so hopefully, we will learn more as normal production resumes. Until then, we can expect to learn more by the fall.
