The Honda Accord is a staple among its segment. Kelley Blue Book named last year’s model as the ‘Best Buy of the Year’ among its segment. Car and Driver also included the 2021 Honda Accord in its ‘10Best’ list. But such accolades haven’t made the 2021 Honda Accord any less boring. I mean, it is a sedan, after all. But you know what? That’s OK. While the 2021 Honda Accord may be one of the most boring options out there, it’s also one of the best cars that you can buy right now.

Driving the 2021 Honda Accord is anything but boring

Based on MotorTrend’s ratings, the 2021 Honda Accord was able to snag the top spot among the midsize sedan segment. That’s not all that surprising, though, considering MotorTrend has recognized the Accord for being a “comparison test favorite.” In previous road tests, the Honda Accord provided better performance and handling than vehicles like the Toyota Camry and even the Audi A4. And in 2021? MotorTrend says that the Honda Accord continues to do just about everything well.

MotorTrend isn’t the only one to think so, either. In its road tests, Consumer Reports found that the Honda Accord’s standard 1.5-liter turbo and continuously variable transmission “team up to provide a seamless and mostly unobtrusive power delivery.” Consumer Reports added that its available 252-hp 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine is even more impressive.

While taking a gander at a vehicle’s safety features may not sound like the most exciting endeavor, you’ll be pleased to know that the 2021 Honda Accord comes pretty well-stocked. The Honda Sensing suite of advanced safety and driver-assistance features is standard on all Accord models. It includes sought after safety features like forward-collision warning, automatic emergency braking, lane-keeping assistance, adaptive cruise control, and automatic high beams. 

All those safety features earned this year’s new Accord the Top Safety Pick+ title from the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) too. The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) also gave it a five-star overall safety rating.

An interior that spacious, comfortable, and stocked with features

But there’s more to the supposedly boring Honda Accord than its pleasant performance and top safety ratings. While the Honda Accord used to be available with an 8.0-inch infotainment display, it now comes standard with it. It’s now standard with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto too. And according to Car and Driver, its USB ports are also much easier to access than in previous model years. 

The interior of the Honda Accord is plenty spacious as well. Car and Driver reports that it offers more space for rear-seat passengers than most other mid-size sedans, including the Hyundai Sonata. It also provides more overall passenger space than the 2020 Toyota Camry. 

How much does the 2021 Honda Accord cost?

But how much can you expect to spend on this boring sedan? Not all that much, actually. Opt for the base Honda Accord, and you can expect to spend a modest $24,770 on it. And at its most expensive, the Accord will run you a minimum of $36,700. 

All in all, though? The Honda Accord has a lot going for it. And while it might be a tad bit boring, that doesn’t mean it’s not one of the best new sedans you can buy right now.
