Is the 2021 Honda Ridgeline worth buying? 

The answer to this question is maybe. It depends on if the 2021 Honda Ridgeline can meet your truck needs. The 2020 Ridgeline has an MSRP of about $33,900. This price doesn’t include the destination fee. 

Now the 2021 Ridgeline begins around $37,665. This price includes the $1,175 destination charge. This price is for the Honda Ridgeline Sport, which used to be a higher trim option. But Honda dropped the old front-wheel-drive sport trim, so the least expensive model has now increased in price by $2,590. 

Other price increases include: 

• A $650 price increase for the Ridgeline RTL trim, which now starts around $0,645. 
• The RTL-E trim has a $400 price increase and begins around $43,595. 
• The Black Edition also has a $400 price increase and starts at about $45.095. 

But according to Pickup Trucks, the price increase does include a few new standard goodies. For example, all-wheel-drive is now standard. If you live in an area without snow, too bad. You’re paying for AWD whether you need it or not. 

How does the Ridgeline compare? 

The Honda Ridgeline is now pretty expensive compared to rivals. The Jeep Gladiator has an MSRP of about $33,565 before the destination fee has been included. Also, the 2021 Toyota Tacoma has an MSRP of about $26,250. 

So, what makes the Ridgeline worth the extra price? What’s new for the 2021 Honda Ridgeline exactly? It got a fresh look. The Ridgeline now looks a bit more confident and aggressive with a wider stance. It has 18-inch wheels with all-terrain tires too. 

But it has a single powertrain option, which is a 3.5-liter V6 engine with 280-hp and 262 lb-ft of torque. The Ridgeline can only tow up to 5,000 lb when properly equipped. The 2021 Ford Ranger can tow up to 7,500 lb and begins around $24,820. 

Car and Driver also mentioned that the Honda Ridgeline doesn’t offer a legit off-roading model like rivals do and has a subpar braking performance. But it can carry a payload of up to 1,586 lb. 

What’s good about the 2021 Ridgeline? 

If you don’t need an off-roader or a beefy work truck, the Honda Ridgeline serves as a practical and comfortable daily driver. The unibody frame allows it to accelerate quickly and handle like a sporty SUV. 

The 2021 Ridgeline got a new infotainment system with updated graphics. It also has a physical volume knob for more convenient use. The 8.0-inch touchscreen also includes Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, while an in-bed audio system is optional. 

Plus, the interior materials seem to be above average while rivals use hard plastics and the front seats now have comfy armrests. The backseat also has the most space for passengers in the segment. 

The bed length is only 5.3 feet and only provides 34 cubic feet of cargo space. But the weather-tight- in-bed trunk is lockable and provides 7.3-cubic feet of storage space.

The rear seats have a 60/40 split and can be flipped up for more interior space. However, the rear doors are a bit narrow, making it difficult to load large cargo.
