The 2021 Hyundai Venue just claimed an interesting title. It serves as the cheapest SUV in America. So, if you don’t want to break the bank for a brand-new ride, consider the Hyundai Venue because prices don’t get much lower than that.

Just to provide a quick disclaimer, we aren’t using the word cheap in a negative manner. The 2021 Hyundai Venue delivers value as a reliable option. We only mean cheap in terms of price, and according to Hot Cars, the Venue is as cheap as it gets.

You can get started in the Hyundai Venue for about $18,750. This is the MSRP, so the price is listed before the dealership fees, and destination fees have been added. You can jazz things up a little with the Denim package for about $22,050. 

The low price of the Hyundai Venue shouldn’t scare you away. According to Edmunds, it has an impressive amount of features included for your money. It provides tons of comfort and style around town. 

How does the Hyundai Venue perform? 

Alright, so we do have one potential drawback to mention. The 2021 Hyundai Venue isn’t exactly a powerful option. It has a 1.6-liter four-cylinder engine with 121 hp and 113 lb-ft of torque. 

But that shouldn’t be a deal-breaker. It can still accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in 9.4 seconds, which is average for the class. It has plenty of power for commuting and scooting around town. It actually feels sporty around curves. 

The Venue has an agile performance making it easy to maneuver with responsive steering. It has a smooth ride, and the cabin is pretty quiet at highway speeds. However, it’s not available with all-wheel drive, so it will have to stay home on snow days. It gets an EPA estimated 30 mpg in the city and 33 mpg on the highway. 

How are the Hyundai Venue features? 

The 2021 Hyundai Venue doesn’t have the most luxurious interior, but it’s better than expected for the price. It has a simple design and comfortable seats. It feels like it’s well assembled and pretty sturdy. The squared-off doors make it easy to enter and exit. 

There is plenty of passenger space in the front and back. Adults can fit comfortably as long as they aren’t over six feet tall. Cargo space is limited as to be expected with its size. There are 18.7 cubic feet of cargo space behind the rear seats, with up to 31.9 cubic feet total.

The Hyundai Venues comes standard with an 8-inch touchscreen that includes Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. The screen is bright with attractive graphics. Plus, it’s easy to use. You can get navigation with real-time traffic updates on the SEL and Denim trims. 

We thought the Venue might be a little safer, but it’s pretty average. It earned a four-star safety rating from the NHSTA. But on a positive note, tons of safety features come standard. You get forward-collision warning, automated emergency braking, lane-departure warning, lane-keeping assist, and driver attention warning.
