The 2021 Jaguar F-Type Looks Almost Too Good to Buy
One of the best looking cars on the road, the 2020 Jaguar F-Type turned heads when it debuted. It’s hard to imagine topping that model. But along comes the 2021 Jaguar F-Type and, believe it or not, it’s even more enticing according to MotorTrend.
Jaguar tweaked the exterior for 2021 now with thin LED headlights and a bigger grille. The latest F-Type is gorgeous without losing its simplicity.
Head-turning excitement
The team at Jaguar cleverly matched the sleek styling of this sports car to the feline theme of their brand. It has a low, long silhouette with curvy fenders that call to mind the muscular rear haunches of a large cat according to CarBuzz. The new headlights have cat-eye appeal completing the bold, aggressive styling you’d want in an exotic sports car.
Those slender LED headlights are the focal point of the front end around a new, slightly bigger grille. The front end of the Jaguar F-Type really grabs your attention with the new front bumpers. The rear was also touched up with redesigned bumpers. A single exhaust outlet on the base model sticks out from the diffuser. The R-Dynamic models have two tailpipes. Everything sits on 18-inch wheels for the base model and 20-inch wheels for the upper trims.
The base models feature rain-sensing windshield wipers, a rearview camera, and front and back parking sensors. The R-Dynamic models get a body-specific kit while the R trim level gets red brake calipers and a power tailgate on coupe models.
The Jaguar F-Type against the competition
The 2021 Jaguar F-Type starts at $62,750 which is slightly more than the 2021 Porsche Cayman, which is among the best luxury sports cars in the class. The team at U.S. News says the Cayman is better than the Jaguar F-Type in some regards. Its handling is more precise and you can get a manual transmission where you can’t with the Jag. Cayman’s cabin is roomier and it has a predicted reliability rating.
You can also get the 2021 Chevrolet Corvette for less than the Jaguar F-Type. The new Corvette features impressive acceleration, a gorgeous cabin, and solid ride quality. The U.S. News team points out that it gets 490 hp, has a user-friendly infotainment system, and a higher predicted reliability rating.
The 2021 Jaguar F-Type
Car and Driver calls the 2021 Jaguar F-Type one of the most underappreciated luxury sports cars available. Its aggressively elegant styling and symmetry make it one of the most attractive cars available.
You can get the 2021 F-Type as either a coupe or a convertible. Driver and passengers enjoy the comfort of a tighter cabin and get the full impact of the supercharged engines under the hood. There’s a four-cylinder engine too that makes the F-Type less showy and more affordable.
Aside from its edgy new look, the 2021 Jaguar F-Type got many new enhancements. Jaguar changed the powertrain lineup to include the supercharged V6 that gets 380 hp and the supercharged V8 that gets 575 hp. The base engine is a four-cylinder that gets 296 hp. The top-shelf F-Type SVR is no longer offered.
The interior continues to put the driver at the center of the design and the materials used are posh. There are faux-suede accents, bits of chrome along with stitched surfaces that lend a touch of elegance. As you move up through the trim levels it gets better with aluminum, embossed elements, and faux-suede coverings. There’s not a lot of trunk space but the driver has a great driving position with a digital gauge cluster most are sure to love.
For those looking for a gorgeous luxury sports car, the 2021 Jaguar F-Type might be a perfect fit. It shines on winding roads and offers the growly acceleration that most crave. Throw in an impressive list of standard features and you have an updated version of an exotic favorite that’s hard to resist.
