The 2021 Jeep Wrangler Gains Much Needed Speed and Tech
We know the new Ford Bronco is cool and all, but you can’t count the 2021 Jeep Wrangler out yet. The Wrangler just got some awesome features that the 2020 model was sorely missing. Check out how the 2021 Jeep Wrangler just received significant upgrades.
The 2021 Jeep Wrangler gains new features
The 2021 Jeep Wrangler isn’t sitting idling by. It is ready to take on the competition with enhancing safety, advanced tech, and improved off-roading gear for each trim level. This will give buyers more options across the board.
Like other trims, the Jeep Wrangler Sport used to only be available with the Command-Trac system with a part-time four-wheel-drive system and two-speed transfer case. Now it’s being upgraded to the Selec-Trac full-time system on the base Sport model.

In the past, this system was only available with higher trims, like the luxury Jeep Wrangler Sahara. This is because the two-speed transfer case was generally reserved for those who don’t go off-roading often.
The two-speed system could be left in 4×4 all the time, including on dry pavement. It had to be manually engaged as needed. However, the Selec-Trac system acts more like an AWD system and automatically switches between 2×2 and 4×4 to fit changing conditions.
2021 Jeep Wrangler Rubicon upgrades
For the first time, Jeep is upgrading the Selec-Trac system for the Jeep Wrangler Rubicon’s more substantial Rock-Track system. So, it will maintain its part-time Rock-Trac 4.0.1 low-range crawl ratio.
The Rubicon will now come standard with Off-Road Plus, allowing you to drive at higher speeds while the locking rear differential is engaged. You can use a button to create peak performance for racing across the sand with traction control parameters, transmission shift points, and a tailored throttle. This brings the Jeep Gladiator Mojave’s Desert-Rated feature to Trail-Rated Wranglers.
2021 Jeep Wrangler tech
The Jeep Wrangler Sahara and Rubicon trims are gaining the forward-facing camera system from the Jeep Gladiator. The camera sits behind the grille and will display obstructions on the trail.
The Jeep Wrangler Sport S will now come standard with a 7” infotainment center, automatic climate control, Sirius XM radio, and a 7” TFT color digital cluster gauge display, and more.
All trims will come with the tire-fill alert feature, which honks the horn once when your tires are filled to proper capacity. Three honks sound when the tires are over or underfilled.
This will help those who partially deflate their tires for off-roading, as it will be much easier to go by a service station to refill their tires on the way home after a long day of crawling over obstacles.
2021 Jeep Wrangler power
Jeep is dropping the four-cylinder eTorque engine but is gaining mild-hybrid technology for the 3.6-liter V6 engine. Also, the Jeep Wrangler will be electric soon with the 4xe.
The 3.0-liter diesel V6, 2.0-liter turbocharged inline-four eTorque mild hybrid engines will be available as well. We’re still banking on the rumored V8 engine as well.
The 2021 Jeep Wrangler has a wide range of bright colors too! The shades include Hydro Blue, Sarge Green, Bright White, Black, Hella Yella, Firecracker Red, Snazzberry, Billet Grey, Granite Crystal, and Sting Gray.
