It’s official, you can get a Jeep Wrangler with a V8

Jeep announced the 2021 Jeep Wrangler Rubicon 392 not too long ago and boy will this off-road-ready SUV pack quite the punch. Driven by a 470-hp 6.4-liter V6 engine and equipped with a full-time 4×4 system, the Wrangler Rubicon 392 also comes outfitted with a functional hood scoop, a dual-mode performance exhaust, and a long list of standard premium features. But what’s with the sudden addition of a V8 Wrangler?

Well, according to Jim Morrison, Vice President for Jeep Brand North America, Jeep enthusiasts have been chomping at the bit for a V8 Wrangler for quite some time and, as it turns out, dreams do come true. He added that the Jeep Wrangler Rubicon 392 is the most Jeep Wrangler yet and is capable enough to take on even the most rugged of terrain.

“This new Jeep Wrangler Rubicon 392 broadens the meaning of Jeep Wrangler 4×4 capability and gives off-road enthusiasts something they can’t get anywhere else backed by the factory: V-8 performance and a 0-60 time of 4.5 seconds,” Morrison continued.

How much will the 2021 Jeep Wrangler Rubicon 392 cost?

Now, here’s the thing. Buying a V8 Wrangler isn’t going to be a cheap. In fact, it’s basically going to be the exact opposite of cheap. Because the 2021 Jeep Wrangler Rubicon 392? Its price tag is up there, way up there. All in all, the V8 Wrangler comes with a base price of $73,500. And that doesn’t include the $1,495 destination fee, either.

Unfortunately, chances are that you’ll see V8 Wranglers with a higher price tag than that. The Drive predicts that dealers will take advantage of the V8 Wrangler craze by driving up price tags a good amount.

“Just like it happened with the Jeep Grand Cherokee Trackhawk—which is still the priciest Jeep with an $88,000 MSRP—as well as the current situation with the Ram TRX, we expect to see ridiculous markups courtesy of dealers trying to cash in on the Jeep’s craze.”
