The 2021 Nissan Frontier Will Change the Truckin’ Game
We know the Nissan Frontier doesn’t seem too exciting. It’s had the same look for years. It’s just a reliable work truck that you can get at an economical price. What’s the big whoop? The totally redesigned 2021 Nissan Frontier is the big whoop.
What’s new for the 2021 Nissan Frontier
Whoop, there it is! Alright, so what we have is a teaser image of the 2021 Nissan Frontier, and it looks good. It has developed a new boxier design. The new LED headlights provide clues to a sleeker front end too.
According to MotorTrend, the favorited Nissan truck will sport a new front end design that incorporates the latest styling cues that the brand has applied to other models, like the Nissan Rogue.
It should have a more striking version of the ‘V-Motion’ grille that’s highlighted by new running daytime lights and a more aggressive bumper. The current Frontier fenders will be less extrusive with less bulk too.
Nissan Frontier interior updates
The interior of the 2021 Nissan Frontier will have a modern new look and feel too. The unique interior style will be developed from the larger Nissan Titan. That means there will be a new, larger touchscreen infotainment center in the dash.
Say goodbye to the old 5.8-inch touchscreen to make way for an eight or 9-inch unit. The graphics will also have a significant update, and it will be easier to connect to Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.
If there are significant-tech updates, then new camera angles will come into view. Also, there could be a space for a wireless charging pad. Hopefully, the storage bins will be updated for more convenience too.
To compete with rivals like the Ford Ranger and Chevy Colorado, the Nissan Frontier will need a more luxurious interior. The seats will need to be comfortable and supportive, and the dash will need higher quality materials. We can only hope for dampening materials for a quieter cab as well.
2021 Nissan Frontier mechanical updates
The 2020 Nissan Frontier already received significant mechanical upgrades that will most likely be carried over to the 2021 model. The older 3.8-liter V6 nine-speed automatic transmission will be carried over.
The 3.8-liter V6 engine has 310 hp and 281 lb-ft of torque. But the Nissan Frontier may be available with a four-cylinder engine too. Plus, rumors about the 2.0-liter four-cylinder turbo-diesel engine might be available too. This way, the Frontier could better compete against the Jeep Gladiator and Chevrolet Colorado.
We can’t wait to see what the 2021 Nissan Frontier Pro-4X trim brings to the table. It should incorporate some major off-roading equipment updates. Perhaps it will have a locking rear differential, more underbody protection, and Bilstein shocks.
But the 2021 Nissan Frontier updates will come with a price. The 2020 model already increased its starting price to around $27,885. The 2021 model should stay close to this number. The larger four-door crew cab model may increase the price by about $1,000.
The 2020 Nissan Frontier went on sale in the spring, so that’s the timeline we can expect with the 2021 model. Hopefully, we will see its debut soon so people can get their pre-orders ready and compare it to rivals.
