The luxury car market is a fierce world, and a lot of well-known brands are competing with each other with some powerful cars. One of those powerful sports cars is the 2021 Porsche Panamera Turbo S, and it has plenty of rivals. One of those rivals is the 2021 Audi RS6, but fortunately for Porsche, the Panamera Turbo S destroys the RS6 in almost every meaningful way.

How fast is the 2021 Porsche Panamera Turbo S?

Like Motor Trend wrote, while speed and specs matter, they aren’t the only things that matter. That being said, since both of these cars are meant for high performance, speed and specs will still matter to some extent. And in this regard, even though they are both similar, the Panamera Turbo S ultimately comes out on top. 

Both cars come with a 4.0-liter V8 that gets about the same amount of horsepower, though the Porsche does come with 29 more. They’re also about the same size and, when it comes to weight, they’re also practically identical as the Panamera Turbo S weighs about 39-pounds less than the RS6 does.

With that being said, the Panamera Turbo S is ultimately faster than the RS6 is, as it can accelerate from 0 to 60 MPH in 2.7 seconds, which Motor Trend wrote is 0.4 seconds faster than the RS6. Not a blowout by any stretch, but a win is a win.

In fact, as Motor Trend said, that acceleration time would’ve made the Panamera Turbo S one of the fastest cars in the world a few years ago. Not only can the Panamera Turbo S accelerate faster though, but it also handles significantly better than the RS6 does. 

The Porsche feels faster than the Audi, too

According to Motor Trend, another thing that has to be considered when it comes to driving a high-end car is how it feels to drive that car. And for a lot of reasons, Motor Trend also said that the Panamera Turbo S feels better to drive than the RS6 does.

This may have to do with the fact that the RS6 carries a bit more weight on its front tires than the Porsche does. 

As a result of these seemingly small engineering differences, the reviewer said that the Panamera Turbo S pulls more lateral g-forces than the Audi does.

Those differences in specs translate to driving feel, too. Motor Trend wrote, driving the Panamera Turbo S feels like “sitting on the road between the tires.”

This made driving the car feel “organic” and, when compared to the RS6, “on another level.” While it’s difficult to capture how a car feels, the numbers don’t lie.

The 2021 Porsche Panamera Turbo S coming out on top shouldn’t be a surprise

To Audi’s credit, Motor Trend also wrote that the RS6 does handle better than older Audis do, but the Panamera Turbo S is just far better than the RS6 is in pretty much every performance-related aspect. This shouldn’t be too surprising since Porsche, as a brand, is more notorious for making high-performance cars than Audi is. 

Regardless, this total domination by the Panamera Turbo S is even less surprising given the fact that the RS6 is a significantly cheaper car. To be fair though, the RS6 isn’t a cheap car either, so folks who can afford the RS6 may be able to afford the Panamera Turbo S too.

But, as Motor Trend wrote, the Panamera Turbo S totally justifies its price tag since it’s just a better car than the RS6 in every way.
