The 2021 Tesla Model 3 Still Holds 2 Huge Advantages Over the Competition
The 2021 Tesla Model 3 is one of the most affordable sedans offered by the electric vehicle manufacturer. Once a victim of quality control and production issues, the Model 3 is now a sound part of the company’s product lineup.
Improvements made to the Tesla Model 3 give it a great advantage over other electric car rivals. Two things in particular stand out, making the EV an undeniable force to be reckoned with.
Tesla provides the 2021 Model 3 with over-the-air software updates
Tesla has been offering over-the-air (OTA) updates to its vehicles since 2012. Being able to alert drivers to changes in settings while improving functionality has proved priceless. According to Teslarati, owners of the Tesla Model 3 can even purchase vehicle upgrades, such as an acceleration boost.
Tesla EV owners find solace in knowing their vehicles are always up to date. The newest and most advanced tech features are just an update away. This peace of mind has proven to be a big selling point for Tesla vehicles, putting them head and shoulders above the rest.
Meanwhile, other auto manufacturers are struggling to keep up with the innovative technology offered by Tesla. While Ford and Porsche have discussed utilizing OTAs, it could be a few years before that comes to fruition.
The unmatched range of the 2021 Tesla Model 3
Another feature of the 2021 Tesla Model 3 that helps it stand out among the competition is its unsurpassable range.
The base version of the Model 3 can run approximately 263 miles on a full battery charge, an increase from the 250-mile range of past models. The Performance edition can go 315 miles on a full charge, an increase from its previous 299-mile range. The more expensive Long Range edition, once only capable of 315 miles, can now last an impressive 353 miles without needing a charge.
As range anxiety continues to be a huge deterrent for consumers, knowing that the Tesla Model 3 has some of the best range in its class is an enormous advantage for Elon Musk’s growing company.
New features just keep coming
The 2021 Tesla Model 3 is getting rid of the exterior chrome trim and replacing it with an all-black painted look. While a welcome change, the front end could still use a design upgrade to create a more stylish appeal. Optional 19-inch wheels help enhance the overall appearance, and a power-operated trunk is a nice feature.
The interior has some trim upgrades with new seat finishes and driver controls on the steering wheel. Wireless charging capability is now conveniently located in the center console with USB-C ports included.
Aside from the many advantages, there are still a few things that need improvement in the Tesla Model 3. Autotrader noted, “We are fans of the Model 3’s driving characteristics – it’s fast and handles well for a battery-powered car – but less enthralled by the Tesla’s minimalist approach to interior design and materials.”
It is a sentiment felt around the industry due to the cramped back seat and lackluster basic interior.
The 2021 Tesla Model 3 is the best-selling electric car
The mid-level EV sedan is not only fun to drive but offers an impressive range compared to other electric vehicles on the market today. The base Standard Plus edition has a starting MSRP of $37,990, making it competitive in its class.
Standard features include a full-length glass roof, 12-way adjustable heated front seats, and auto-dimming door mirrors. The top-of-the-line Long Range Model 3 starts at $46,990, offering extended range, a larger battery, and all-wheel-drive capabilities.
According to Tesmanian, the Tesla Model 3 is the best-selling electric vehicle on the globe. Now, that’s definitely an advantage over the competition.
