Kelley Blue Book reviewed this newest addition to the Corolla lineup, and they were highly impressed. The 2021 Corolla Hatchback is roomier, has a great engine and transmission, and would look great sitting in your driveway. It’s also got a price tag that most families can afford.

It’s all about the looks with the Toyota Corolla Hatchback

They say that you shouldn’t judge a book by its cover, but no one has ever said that you shouldn’t judge a car by its frame. Even if they did, we all do it. No one wants to buy an ugly car unless it has a cult-like following like the Pontiac Aztek, or it’s an electric car. 

The Toyota Corolla Hatchback is anything but ugly. It’s got all the curves of the sedan model but has more room like an SUV. It also comes with beautiful, eye-catching colors. The cherry reds and bright blues are sure to draw the right kind of attention, especially if you get a contrast color roof. The tail fin on the back makes it look incredibly cool and just the right amount of tough.

Down under the hood

The body might look amazing, but what goes on under the hood matters just as much if not more. The 2021 Toyota Corolla Hatchback comes standard with a 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine that gets 168 hp. This doesn’t make it the most powerful hatchback on the road, but it gets enough power to satisfy most drivers.

The transmission comes with two choices. You can either pick the six-speed manual or a CVT. According to Kelley Blue Book, “We think many people will prefer the convenience of the continuously variable automatic transmission (CVT), and we’re okay with that. Why? Because this is one of the smoothest, most engaged CVTs we’ve driven in a while, with intelligent features like a built-in launch gear that delivers instantaneous acceleration from a dead stop.”

The one major drawback to the 2021 Toyota Corolla Hatchback is the fact that there is no all-wheel-drive option. Given its tough looks, it would make sense to add this in, but for whatever reason, Toyota decided not to offer it. Some drivers may not care, but others who live in areas with questionable weather may choose to go with another vehicle.

Roomier really is better

The 2021 Toyota Corolla Hatchback is the perfect vehicle for anyone. Whether you’re single and looking to impress or have started a family, the Corolla Hatchback will fulfill your needs. 

Kelley Blue Book stated, “The 2021 Toyota Corolla Hatchback is as fun and stylish as it is practical.” It’s roomy enough to go on vacation in and small enough to drive around town without having to strategically plan where you’re going to park. It really is the best of all worlds.

There isn’t a lot of legroom in the rear, so it’s not exactly adult-friendly. Still, kids will have a great time riding in the back.

Technology is not an option

Some automakers are behind the times, making very expensive vehicles, without adding in any tech. Toyota has gone in the opposite direction and adds in tons of technology options. 

Music lovers or those who have become one with their cell phone will be delighted to know that Toyota offers plenty of choices. Not only do you get Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, Toyota now offers Amazon Alexa integration. 

There are also lots of standard safety features that will satisfy nearly everyone. The Toyota Safety Sense 2.0 comes with a pre-collision warning system with pedestrian detection, automatic emergency braking, lane-departure warning and assist, adaptive cruise control, and auto high-beam headlights.

The Toyota Corolla Hatchback’s price is right

With so many features, some potential owners might worry that the 2021 Toyota Corolla Hatchback costs more than they can afford. That shouldn’t be a problem, however. The Corolla Hatchback starts at $20,500, making it one of the most affordable hatchbacks on the road.
