The 2022 Infiniti QX60 Has Incredible RV Towing Upgrades
Get ready to tow your RV with a crossover! Seriously, the 2022 Infiniti QX60 just received incredible upgrades to become more capable. You don’t need a massive truck or SUV for towing anymore. Check out what the new Infiniti QX60 can do.
The 2022 Infiniti QX60 is ready to tow
Soon you’ll be able to tow trailers and your RV with the brand new Infiniti QX60. It should arrive later this year and has a 20% increased towing capacity compared to its predecessor. The new QX60 can tow up to 6,000 lb when properly equipped.
According to Infiniti News, Eric Riguax, Infiniti General Manager, Product Strategy, and Planning, shared that the all-new Infiniti QX60 was designed to exceed expectations and perform with not only poise but also power.
He continued to say the upgraded towing capacity provides families with the confidence to get to where they want to be, without having to leave what they need behind.
With the ability to tow up to 6,000 lb, the QX60 can tow a 22-foot Airstream trailer. It can also tow weekend adventure toys such as bikes, small motorized vehicles, or personal watercraft.
The Infiniti QX60 was put to the test
The new capabilities of the 2022 Inifiniti QX60 were put to the test. Engineers logged thousands of hours and hundreds of thousands of miles behind the wheel of the new QX60 for intense durability testing.
Rigorous testing took place at Infiniti’s Arizona Testing Center under harsh, rugged conditions. It was also sent out into the wild to be tested in real-world conditions, including high-altitude roads in Colorado, the extreme cold in Alaska, steep streets in San Fransico, brutal heat in Phoenix, off-road trails in Utah, and more.
They were surprised at how easily the 2022 QX60 was able to tow such a large trailer. They are confident that the enhanced durability of the QX60 will allow it to last an incredibly long time. Even in Arizona, with heat over 110 degrees, the crossover kept passengers cool and comfortable along with the Airstream trailer.
The 2022 Infiniti QX60 can quickly accelerate uphill while towing trailers and has confident braking. The increased towing capacity is supported by increased cooling and stability assistants.
Select models receive an uprated transmission oil cooler, integrated hitch receiver, trailer-tuned stability programming, and a dedicated prewiring harness.
What else do we know about the 2022 QX60?
An unofficial rendering of the 2022 Infiniti QX60 shows larger air intakes on the sides. This makes sense because this crossover does have multiple towing and cooling enhancements.
The 3.5-liter V6 engine also cranks out 295 hp and 270 lb-ft of torque for towing. It’s paired with a new nine-speed gearbox with a larger 10:1 ratio spread for enhanced acceleration and comfort.
According to Motor 1, there has been no word on when the vehicle will have its official debut. But it should arrive by the end of the year. The 2020 model has an MSRP of $44,350. While no pricing information has been released, it’s safe to expect a slight increase due to the enhancements that the 2022 model has received.
