The 2022 Jeep Grand Cherokee was just announced, and the variations of it are seemingly endless and head-turning. This hybrid Grand Cherokee will offer all of the things that Grand Cherokee owners love about their SUV, but with the bonus of being more environmentally friendly (and fuel-efficient). The 2022 Jeep Grand Cherokee 4xe will be available with the Summit Reserve package, which is the Grand Cherokee’s highest trim level. 

Is there a hybrid Jeep Grand Cherokee 4xe? There sure is

The 2022 Jeep Grand Cherokee 4xe is the newest addition to Jeep’s hybrid lineup. Yeah, so far the lineup consists only of the Jeep Wrangler 4xe, but that’s selling so well that you might as well think that it’s a fleet of SUVs. 

In addition to being a hybrid, the 2022 Grand Cherokee 4xe will come standard with four-wheel drive and a 2.0-liter, four-cylinder engine. According to Car and Driver, the 2022 Jeep Grand Cherokee 4xe will also have two motors which together will be able to produce 375-hp and 470 lb-ft of torque. It will be able to get 57 mpg hybrid, and be able to travel up to 25 miles on just its battery.

What will the Summit Reserve package include?

The 2022 Jeep Grand Cherokee 4xe will have several trim options to choose from. These include the Laredo, Limited, Trailhawk, Overland, and Summit Reserve. The Summit Reserve is the highest end trim you can get on any 2022 Jeep Grand Cherokee, and those opting for the hybrid SUV will undoubtedly be happy that it’s available. 

So what does the Grand Cherokee Summit Reserve package include? Think chrome, leather, and 20-inch wheels. Love a high-quality sound system? Jeep has you covered with a McIntosh audio system.

The Summit Reserve package include the Lux Tech Group, which includes a wireless phone charger and window shades. With the Summit Reserve package also comes the Advance ProTech package, which has pedestrian detection with night vision and animal detection. 

When can I buy a 2022 Jeep Grand Cherokee 4xe?

The 2022 Jeep Grand Cherokee 4xe is supposed to make its first appearance in the spring of 2022. This is after the arrival of the non-hybrid Jeep Grand Cherokees, which should start appearing this winter, in late 2021. The 2022 Grand Cherokee 4xe should start at around $50,000.

It’s worth noting that the newest Grand Cherokees will have only two rows. Additionally, Jeep plans on delivering more torque with their hybrid engines while keeping the ride quiet. Jeep plans on having an electric model of all of their SUVs available by 2025.

We’ll see how well the 2022 Jeep Grand Cherokee 4xe will do in sales. If the Jeep Wrangler 4xe’s success is any indication, it should do pretty well. This could be huge for electric and hybrid SUVs, as those on the fence about greener alternatives may be more willing to adopt models that they’re already familiar with. The 2022 Grand Cherokee 4xe certainly offers a blend of the familiar with the excitement of new technology, and it will be interesting to see where that goes.
