What we know about the 2022 Land Cruiser 300 Series
According to Auto Blog, a Japanese forum leaked details about the next generation Toyota Land Cruiser from a dealership. We’re happy to see clues about the 2022 Toyota Land Cruiser, and we’re even more interested in the 300 Series.
We might not get the 2022 Toyota Land Cruiser 300 Series when it makes its debut for the rest of the world this summer, but we can cling on to hope that it comes our way, eventually.
According to Gear Patrol, the J300 Land Cruiser may not debut until August, and we might not get the 2022 model year in the United States. However, we could get the 2023 Toyota Land Cruiser.
How much power will the 2022 Toyota Land Cruiser have?
The 2022 Toyota Land Cruiser 300 Series is expected to have two engine options. Rumors suggest that the base models will have a 3.5-liter V6 gasoline engine that’s currently found in the Lexus LS500. It pups out 420 hp and 434 lb-ft of torque. That’s an excellent amount of standard power.
The net engine option could be a 3.3-liter turbo diesel V6 engine with 309 hp and 507 lb-ft of torque. Both powertrain options will be paired with a 10-speed automatic transmission. But what about the V8?
The Toyota Land Cruiser doesn’t need a V8 engine. The new forced induction V6 engine makes more power than the older option with 381 hp and 401 lb-ft of torque. Also, some critics are surprised that a hybrid option hasn’t been mentioned, but a variant could become available later in 2022.
Productor of the gasoline-powered 2022 Toyota Land Cruiser models is expected to begin in July 2021. The diesel variants are expected to enter production in the latter half of July or August.
2022 Toyota Land Cruiser Features
The 2022 Toyota Land Cruiser 300 Series is expected to come with a manual seat adjustment, 18-inch wheels, and an optional rear locking differential. Going up in trim levels adds power seats, a sunroof, ventilated seats, and more.
A hands-free sensor for the rear tailgate and a remote for the sunroof are optional. The deluxe options include 20-inch alloy wheels, rear ventilated seats, and sequential turn signals.
Also, a 12-inch touchscreen infotainment system is optional over the 9-inch and 10-inch screens. Toyota’s VDIM vehicle dynamic management software and an active stabilizer suspension system should give the Land Cruiser a smoother ride.
We’re excited about the GR-S trim rumors. This is possibly the new top-of-the-line trim that adopts the Gazoo Racing name. It could be the new hardcore off-roading trim that gets back to the basics. It won’t have the VDIM system or sequential blinkers, and the sunroof will be optional.
But it will include front and rear locking differentials, the Toyota Kinetic Dynamic Suspension System (KDSS), and 18-inch wheels wrapped in larger off-roading tires. Also, to combat theft, the Land Cruiser may come with a fingerprint authentication start button.
