The 2022 Toyota Land Cruiser Model Debut Is Delayed Again
Recent reports from Japan have revealed that the awaited debut of the new generation of one of the world’s favorite Toyota trucks is delayed again. The 2022 Toyota Land Cruiser 300 model is coming soon. Last we heard, the global debut would be this spring. But when will we finally see what Toyota has in store for the all-new Land Cruiser SUV?
The Legendary Land Cruiser
The Toyota Land Cruiser is legendary. It doesn’t always earn high praise here in the states. Yes, it’s expensive. Sure, the tech is a bit dated. But the sheer capability baked into this SUV has been passed down for decades to bring a well-round off-road SUV with a luxurious interior. Plus, this is one of those vehicles, like many other Toyota trucks, that is known to last and last. From the historic J40 Land Cruiser to the Land Cruiser Prado, the Land Cruiser name is well respected in the automotive community.
Vintage Toyota Land Cruisers are sought after and rebuilt. Land Cruiser love is fierce and focused––much like the global community of Jeepers. And really whether old or new We drove a 70 Series Land Cruiser in Costa Rica for a couple of months last year. It climbed mountains and handled sandy beaches with ease––and it was completely stock. The 2022 TOyota Land Cruiser 300 model is sure to be a beast. But other than that we know next to nothing. And even though it’s not coming over to the states, it’s still a new Toyota truck to get excited about.
When does the 2022 Toyota Land Cruiser 300 model come out?
We may not have much hope in the way of getting the 2022 Toyota Land Cruiser here in the states. But pretty much everyone else in the world is still stoked for the release of the Land Cruiser 300 model. Plus, other Toyota truck models here in the states will potentially take cues from any new features or technology that we see in the 2022 Toyota Land Cruiser 300 model. But when is it coming out?
Well, we thought it would be this spring. Soon, in fact. April has been talked about by other publications like Motor1. But new reports tell us there’s really no telling when we will finally see the Land Cruiser reveal. According to Car Mag, the release date has been pushed back to at least July due to a global semiconductor shortage.
“According to BestCarWeb, the global semiconductor shortage has impacted the Japanese firm’s production schedule, with the reveal of the Land Cruiser 300 thus pushed back once more.”

Advanced reservations for the new Toyota truck
Although the reveal has been allegedly pushed back until the end of the summer, “advanced reservations” are intended to begin sometime in May 2021. So, even though buyers won’t know exactly what they are reserving people will be able to hold a spot for themselves to have access to the first wave of production for this new Toyota truck.
Toyota in Japan will be taking orders in May. But it’s still anyone’s guess as to what the 2022 Toyota Land Cruiser 300 model will have to offer. In fact, we don’t even know if the same version will be offered to every market. What they get in Japan could have different options than what South Africa or Australia get. Until the delayed debut, we just don’t know.
