The 2022 Toyota Tundra Capstone is the new and incredibly nice Tundra trim level. The Tundra Capstone price will start at $75,225. It’s unlike any other Tundra past or present. In fact, it’s so nice you would be forgiven for thinking that perhaps Lexus had a heavy hand in designing the new Tundra Capstone. So what did Toyota include in this high-end pickup truck?

As you might imagine, the Lexus-esque Tundra Capstone has an image that stands out. It comes with 22-inch wheels, a color-matched grille, and chrome inserts. The inside is black and white leather and there’s a light-up Capstone logo on the dashboard, in case you forget what you’re driving (or if you’re hoping passerby on the highway notice your blinged-out truck at night). In addition, the Tundra Capstone has a 14-inch touchscreen that’s compatible with both Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.

Is the Tundra Capstone worth buying?

For $75,000, you’ll get a twin-turbo hybrid V6 engine that puts out 437 hp and 583 lb-ft of torque, according to Car and Driver. It can tow up to10,340 pounds and has a max payload rating of 1485 pounds, though Car and Driver points out that there are other Toyota Tundra trims that can tow more. The Capstone has a 5.5-ft short bed that’s reinforced with aluminum composite.

There are other features that make the 2022 Toyota Tundra Capstone stand out when compared to other Toyota trucks. The interior has walnut accents, and the digital gauge cluster is a generous 12.3-inches. There’s a 10-inch head-up display and a premium sound system. The Capstone also comes with premium LED lights.

When can I buy a Capstone?

The 2022 Toyota Tundra Capstone will be available to purchase in the spring of 2022. If you need your truck to do some serious towing or hauling, you might want to skip this high-priced version of Toyota’s truck. If, on the other hand, you want a daily pickup with a luxury feel, proceed. You’ll be happy you did when you’re sitting in your luxury truck with its panoramic sunroof and acoustic glass on the front doors.

If you’re torn about whether the 2022 Toyota Tundra Capstone is worth it, Toyota has thrown in some features that might make you feel its worth its $75,000 price tag. There’s an available Adaptive Variable Suspension and Toyota’s Safety Sense, which is Toyota’s suite of safety features.

Still, the Capstone is an expensive truck – very expensive. Whether it’s really worth its price will have to be seen once it’s available and people start driving and reviewing it.
