The 2023 Alfa Romeo Giulia Comes in 5 Trims, From Basic to Bonkers: We Explain
The 2023 Alfa Romeo Giulia fits a neat niche. This small sedan handles well, it’s beautiful, and you can order one with a positively potent engine. And, who can resist that trident grille with the man-eating snake on the badge? But, when you start looking at the five trim levels, it can get confusing.
What’s the difference between the Sprint, the Ti, the Veloce, the Estrema and the top-dog Quadrifoglio trim levels? It gets confusing as options can push this underrated car from a base price of $44,280 to more than $82,000. This year, the cars are also available in a 100th Anniversary trim celebrating the brand’s 100 years of production.
What is the Alfa Romero Giulia sport sedan?
The Giulia is a smallish four-door sedan that was designed to take on BMW’s 3 Series and the Audi A4 and Geneis G70. But, the Alfa has a distinctly sporting character about it and has won several accolades. Alfa loves to lean on its racing heritage, and in fact it still races in Formula 1 today, as well as classes all over the world. While the Stelvio and Tonale are the brand’s SUVs, the Giulia is its sporting four-door car. We do, however, lament the loss of the 4C two-seat sports car that the brand discontinued in 2020.
The 2023 Alfa Romeo Giulia Sprint is the cheapest way to an Alfa
The Sprint may be the most inexpensive 2023 Alfa Romeo Giulia, but this is still a premium car with lots to offer. The Sprint comes with a 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine that makes 280 horsepower, and its mated to a quick-shifting eight-speed automatic transmission. It also has a sport suspension, Brembo brand front brakes to help it stop. But, the Sprint knows that it’s a $44,280 car, and that means that it has heated power seats, a large touchscreen, parking sensors, collision warnings and more.
The Ti version is an upgrade to the Sprint. It adds 18-inch wheels, a different grille and some dark grey oak to the interior. But, the Ti beefs up the safety systems with blind-spot assist, lane-keep assist, and more. You also get more leather trim inside and a 14-speaker Harmon Kardon stereo.
The Veloce and Estrema beef up the 2023 Alfa Romeo Giulia’s sporting character
The Veloce, which means “speed” in Italian lives up to its name. It adds some additional cosmetic goodies, like a new grille and aluminum trim. It also adds 19-inch sport wheels and a rear valence. But, crucially for a sport sedan, it adds a limited-slip differential. That diff helps the car put power down in corners and in a straight line better than the standard car’s.
The Estrema adds everything that the Veloce has, but then accentuates it with carbon fiber trim inside and out. The big sporting difference is its active suspension that lets the driver pick suspension modes for when you want to spice up your commute or attack the corners in the canyon. The Veloce starts at $52,420 while the Estrema is a $55,920 option. But, it’s litta more than an appearance package, according to Auto Express.
The Alfra Romeo Giulia Quadrifoglio is the ultimate Giulia
Quadrifoglio, “four-leaf clover” is a the ultimate Giulia and basically a four-door Ferrari. You can spot one of these $82,000 cars by the green four-leaf clover badges on the side. The Quadrifoglio ditches the 2.0-liter in favor of a 2.9-liter twin-turbo V6 that makes 505 horsepower. That’s enough, Alfa says, to get the car from 0-60 mph in just 3.8 seconds. The company made an even faster GTAm version, but it wasn’t available in the U.S.
The Quad comes with all the goodies from the Estrema, but also upgraded Brembo brakes, a two-mode exhaust with four tips, a different drive system, and some other cosmetic goodies. You can buy a carbon fiber roof for it, as well as Sparco brand carbon fiber racing seats to really amp up the sporting character. It also comes with a 200-mph speedometer, and lest you think you won’t need it, the car’s top speed Alfa says is 191 mph.
