Not only has the Maverick been popular among consumers, but Ford’s small truck has been praised by journalists and publications as well. If you want a compact truck, this is the one KBB says to get.
You can’t buy KBB’s favorite small truck
If you’re interested in the 2023 Ford Maverick, you are probably out of luck. This vehicle is so popular that Ford was forced to close orders after about a week after they opened. The Maverick truck is in high demand and is being hit with supply chain issues. Because of that, the Blue Oval is struggling to keep up with orders.
That said, if you are fine with the long wait for the Ford Maverick, it just might be worth it. This truck can tow up to 4,000 pounds and comes with legitimate utility. Better yet, it is actually an affordable pickup truck that has a starting MSRP of under $25,000. So, it does make sense why it has been a hit among consumers.
According to Kelley Blue Book, the 2023 Maverick is a true winner. It might be hard to buy one, but if you can track one down, it might be the perfect fit for your lifestyle needs.
Can the Ford Maverick go off-road?
In terms of off-road ability, the Maverick has some tricks up its sleeve. For 2023, the Blue Oval has introduced the Tremor package to its small truck. And it actually makes some big changes to this compact pickup. A Maverick Tremor will come with a 1.0-inch lift, retuned AWD system, and some other off-road goodies. Unfortunately, it is only available to the XLT and Lariat trims.
If the Tremor package seems like too much, there is also the FX4 Off-Road package. Although not as extreme as the Tremor, it does add an improved cooling system for rugged driving conditions.
Small trucks are back in America
If you’ve been longing for the days of actual small pickup trucks, your wait is over. The Hyundai Santa Cruz and Ford Maverick show that some manufacturers are willing to give a truck bed to a compact pickup. These models might not be as capable as their larger counterparts, but that’s not really the point.
The 2023 Ford Maverick is at home in urban environments, but it’s also ready for some adventuring. And you get the looks of a traditional pickup truck. For a price of right around $20k, this vehicle brings quite a bit to the table. The big downside appears to be the ability to actually buy one.
Hopefully, Ford will get some of its supply issues figured out in the near future. According to some reports, folks who have ordered this compact pickup still feel in the dark about their vehicle. And understandably, that can be pretty frustrating to experience.
