Acura’s newest airbag system is a first for the Integra’s segment and features airbags specially designed to support the head and neck and reduce damage in the event of a collision. 3. Collision Mitigation Braking System (CMBS)

The 2023 Integra features a brand-new single-camera system. A more extended range and a wider field of view let the Integra function on a single camera rather than multiples. This new braking system uses light and sound to alert the driver of potential danger. The updated CMBS can tell the difference between vehicles, pedestrians, and even bicycles. Collision Mitigation Braking is standard on all Integra models.

2. Blind Spot Information System (BSI) with Rear Cross-Traffic Monitoring

If you’ve never driven in a car with blind-spot monitoring, you may not realize how helpful it can be. The 2023 Integra’s BSI system is beneficial for highway driving and alerts drivers to vehicles in the “blind spot” zones on either side of the car. The BSI system alerts by flashing a small signal on the side mirrors. This feature is standard on all 2023 Integra models. The A-Spec with Technology Package model adds additional front and rear parking sensors.

Acura wasn’t specific in what improved for the Lane Keeping Assist System that comes standard in the 2023 Integra, but it referred to more “natural feeling responses.” We can guess this means a gentling of the system that nudges your wheel back to center if you start to drift. Consumer Reports has shared general consumer dissatisfaction with this type of safety feature, so having a system that’s smoother, smarter, and can reduce driver fatigue would be a big win for the Integra.

Do the 2023 Acura Integra’s safety features set it apart? 

While the features above are cool (we appreciate the dedication to lowering risk of traumatic brain injury) many of these features aren’t unique to the Integra.
