The Best-Looking 2021 Nissan Armada Isn’t the Most Expensive
The 2021 Nissan Armada is receiving some bold updates for the new model year. The complete refresh of the full-size SUV will have new exterior features that create an aggressive and luxury-defining stature. The interior of the Armada also got a much-needed update, staying in direct competition with the Infiniti QX80.
There are three trim levels for the enormous new 2021 Nissan Armada. Oddly enough, the top-of-the-line Platinum edition is not the trim that is drawing the most attention.
It’s the all-black package on the Armada SL that is not only lower-priced but also has a better overall appeal.

The new-for-2021 Midnight Edition includes a black-painted grille, darker LED taillights, and upgraded 20-inch wheels. All of the exterior chrome is blacked-out with distinct features that include front and rear skid plates. Black mirror caps, roof rails, and vehicle-specific floor mats complement the classic styling.
Nissan also added unique badging to the 2021 Armada. The all-black Midnight interior features leather seating with black trim and a sleek black dashboard. Strangely enough, the classy-looking package is available on the Armada SL trim, which will compete directly with the plush Armada top-level Platinum trim.
Nissan has not yet released 2021 pricing, but Kelley Blue Book estimates the starting price for the RWD Armada will be around $47,000. The midlevel SL trim is expected to start slightly above $53,000. The high-end Platinum Edition has an anticipated MSRP of $62,000 for the 2021 model year. Nissan will most likely charge an additional $3,000 for the AWD option.
The 2021 Nissan Armada gets some appearance changes
Variants of the 2021 Nissan Armada include several impressive design changes. The refreshed three-row SUV looks better than ever with a new hood and stylistic front grille design. Redesigned front fenders and a restyled bumper complete the all-new look.

The new 2021 Nissan logo is evident on the Armada, becoming the first U.S. vehicle to display the new insignia.
The enhanced interior stands out among competitors. The impressive changes exude luxury with a new center stack and plenty of high-tech options. The easy-to-use climate control and audio buttons make the Armada simple to operate for drivers and passengers alike.
A redesigned gear shifter along with more storage compartments create a comfortable cabin experience. Standard wireless phone charging and USB ports are now standard features in the new and improved 2021 Nissan Armada.
What the refreshed 2021 Nissan Armada has to offer
Standard features on all 2021 Nissan Armada vehicles include blind-spot monitoring, lane-keeping assist, and adaptive cruise control. Automatic emergency braking and a surround-view monitor are also standard in the SUV.
Updated technology includes a new 12.3-inch infotainment system that is compatible with both Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. The larger screen is user-friendly and much more visible than previous models.
The 5.6-liter V8 engine paired with a seven-speed automatic transmission puts out 400 hp, a slight jump in power from last year. Torque power increased to 413 lb-ft, compared to the 394 lb-ft generated in the 2020 model year. Where the Nissan Armada fails is in the laughably bad gas mileage.
Towing power is comparable to other SUVs in the industry, maxing out at 8,500 pounds, and is one of the best in its class. A trailer brake controller is now standard in the 2021 Nissan Armada for easier towing and hauling.
MotorTrend recommends the Nissan Armada, saying, “Yes, the 2021 Armada is ‘only’ a Nissan, but it continues to offer many of the same frills as its fancier QX80 sibling, making it a potentially better buy for the less fashion-conscious.”
