If you’re shopping for a new vehicle, it’s hard to know where to start with the seemingly endless selection of cars, SUVs, and trucks. Thankfully, the folks at U.S. News have announced their awards for the Best Vehicle Brands for 2021.

Luxury vehicle fans are in for a surprise, though. The top luxury brand is bound to be Tesla, right? Maybe Mercedes-Benz? BMW? Audi? Porsche?

The award for the best luxury vehicle brand goes to …

U.S. News focuses on four common categories for its annual awards: cars, SUVs, trucks, and luxury vehicles. Then the publication’s reviewers determine the top brand in each category. The vehicles of the winning brands are all near or at the top of their respective classes. When you select a vehicle from these brands, you’re making a wise choice.

Whether you choose a coupe, convertible, or SUV, Porsche offers the ideal balance between dynamic performance and sumptuous luxury. It’s the U.S. News Best Luxury Brand award winner for the sixth year in a row.

Porsche built a reputation on luxury performance cars like the 911, Boxster, and Cayman. You’ll find all three at the top of the sports car class because of their sublime comfort and athletic driving chops. The engines are mounted in the back of these cars, which gives them the exceptional handling for which Porsche is known.

Each Porsche vehicle offers a full slate of powertrain options to suit different budgets and driver preferences. You can choose a four-cylinder or six-cylinder engine, rear- or all-wheel-drive. You can select either an automatic or manual transmission. And if you want power, the 911 Turbo S can harness up to 640 horses.

The best luxury coupes, sedans, and SUVs

Porsche also boasts a fine line of sedans with comfortable backseats. The Panamera offers the best of both worlds, with Porsche’s dynamic performance and the comfort and room for a family. According to U.S. News, Panamera also offers a nice selection of powertrains, including hybrid setups.

There are two SUVs from Porsche. The Macan is a popular compact luxury crossover that offers great safety features, the latest tech, and a great driving experience. The Cayenne is a midsize SUV that has everything the Macan has, plus plenty of cargo and interior space. It features the dynamic performance expected of a Porsche and everything you could want in an SUV.

The brand added its first luxury electric vehicle, the Taycan, in 2020. This emissions-free vehicle is powered by batteries only and offers what U.S. News calls a historically accurate Porsche driving experience. You can be an eco-hero on your daily commute with the Taycan.

Why Porsche?

Even with the variety across Porsche’s lineup, there’s a reason why U.S. News named the automaker the top luxury vehicle brand. Excellence in design and materials make for appealing form and function.

The German automaker is committed to diversity, innovation, and excellent customer service. In nurturing consumer trust and never forgetting its roots, Porsche is considered by many to be the top luxury automotive brand. Its commitment to its customers really makes it stand out in a growing sea of competition.

Though Porsche vehicles are expensive, the price isn’t the draw for most luxury fans. They’re in it for the high level of quality and care that goes into each vehicle. The automaker’s products perform well and rank high on Consumer Reports’ road tests. And Porsche consistently earns top scores against top competitors BMW, Mercedes-Benz, and Tesla.

Porsche will continue to innovate and grow in a way that challenges its rivals to keep up.
