The Biggest Differences Between the 2020 Toyota Camry and Corolla
Toyota’s two most popular cars are often in competition with each other at the dealership. Both the 2020 Toyota Camry and Corolla are excellent vehicles, but yes, one must be better. Which one?
Each is available as a sedan, and both offer a fuel-efficient hybrid version. The Corolla is the only one offered as a hatchback. Let’s take a look and see how the two compare.
Toyota Camry vs Toyota Corolla
Whether you have a growing family or an individual who needs their space, there is no denying that size measurements matter. The Toyota Camry is larger than the Corolla in almost every way. It is longer, wider, and taller. The exception to this finding is the Corolla Hatchback, which offers more room by design.
Often the measurements reported by manufacturers regarding cargo volume are unreliable and inconsistent. This can be especially true when comparing different manufactures or body styles. Cars.com said they found Toyota’s listed capacity for the Camry (14.1 to 15.1 cubic feet, depending on trim level) beats the Corolla’s 13.1 cubic feet. They also noted taking that lightly and relying on your measurements before purchasing.
Again Cars.com reported the Corolla Hatchback’s cargo specs from the manufacturer stated 17.8 cubic feet. This wouldn’t be an accurate space comparison to that of the Corolla and Camry sedans. This is because open cargo spaces are typically measured differently than enclosed cargo spaces
Toyota Camry vs Toyota Corolla Price Comparison
When it comes down to dollars and cents, the Camry will cost you more than the Corolla. The exception would be in comparing a well-equipped trim level Corolla to a lower-trim level Camry. The 2020 Camry will range from a base starting price of $25K – $32K for the TRD. The cost of the 2020 Corolla will vary from a base starting price of around $20K – $26K. The Camry Hybrid ranges from $29K- $34K, with the Corolla Hybrid coming in just under $25K. Keep in mind that additional packages can significantly increase the cost at all trim levels.
