The BMW i8 is Still One of the Coolest Looking Hybrids
Several years ago, BMW released their flagship hybrid supercar, the BMW i8. It was unlike anything we’ve seen from the brand before, and over the years since its release, we’ve seen some of the cool features become a reality in more consumer-friendly BMW vehicles. If you’re interested in buying a hybrid car, you might be surprised to see that the prices of the BMW i8 have steadily decreased since it’s initial debut, and it’s still one of the coolest looking options on the market.
The BMW i8 could be a spaceship
I very distinctly remember the first time I saw a BMW i8 driving past, and to say it looks like a spaceship might be an understatement. Having one sit in my very own driveway amongst a collection of other odd exotics, I can say that there isn’t anything quite like it. The smooth body lines contrast from the geometric edges, and the futuristic headlights, taillights, and accent lighting make the vehicle look like something that drove out of Area 51.
A sleek interior
Sitting down in the driver’s seat, you wouldn’t mistake the car as belonging to any other brand. The interior is more sleek and modern than some other lower-end models, but still has some touches that make it iconically BMW. You might be surprised to know that the i8 even has back seats, though from personal experience and having to sit in one for a three-hour trip to a car show, I can say with a lot of confidence that they really aren’t fit for an adult.
A sporty hybrid
You can knock the BMW i8 for being a hybrid, but its looks truly reflect a vehicle that almost looks like it should be fully-electric. Depending on the year, you can expect to get different amounts of horsepower, but chances are you won’t be impressed by any of the figures. It might not be the most powerful car on the market, but it does have a very striking, one-of-a-kind appearance that sets it apart from anything else on the hybrid car market.
As the market for electric cars and hybrids grows, more and more vehicles will become available to consumers. None of them look quite as intricate and out-of-this-world as the BMW i8, though many of them do look very good. For now, we still think the i8 is one of the coolest looking hybrids you can find.
