The all-new mid-engine C8 Corvette has been long anticipated by enthusiasts for several years, and when it finally debuted it had a lot to offer, including some hidden designs. The C8 offered power, performance, and an all-new styling that brought the classic muscle car into the modern generation of sportscars. While there are a few things we think that the C8 Corvette is missing, like a manual transmission option, but it does have some cool features and quirks.

The New C8 was designed to be modern, aggressive, luxurious, and above all, the affordable car that Corvette has always set out to be. For a substantial amount of power and performance, you can get the new mid-engine Corvette for a price tag starting at around $60,000.

The first-ever mid-engine Corvette in Chevrolet’s history and we were excited to see how the styling was updated to accommodate the new mechanical setup. It is debatably the most aggressive base-model Corvette ever designed, and while the drastic changes upset many classic Corvette lovers, the design was overall well-received.

Best hidden features of the C8

The first feature isn’t functional but it is still pretty neat: there are hidden Corvette logos around the car. The first one is hidden in plain sight in a feature all cars typically have but you don’t usually notice. On your front and rear windshield, you may or may not have noticed small black dots that make up what is called the frit. These dots are baked on to the glass of the windshield, but if you look closely at the dots on the Corvette C8 you will notice that they aren’t black dots at all, but rather small Corvette badges.

This isn’t the only place that the Corvette badge is hidden, either. The grille that covers the speaker between the driver and passenger also has a hidden Corvette logo. You can only see it from certain angles and wouldn’t notice it if you were looking at the speaker straight-on.

Many owners also think that the key FOB is the only way to open the storage compartment of the C8. Because the new Corvette is a mid-engine, the storage compartment is located underneath the hood of the car rather than in the trunk compartment. There is a hidden button above the left grille that opens the hood and allows owners to get into the front storage space without needing the key.

What’s less surprising, and less hidden, is that the roof of the Corvette is designed to fit snuggle in the trunk. This isn’t a new concept developed by Chevrolet, and it really isn’t that big a surprise either, but it is an incredibly convenient feature. If you weren’t able to fit your hardtop in the trunk, you would have to leave it behind any time you decided to leave the house with the top down, and if you found yourself in inclement weather you would be out of luck.

While the new C8 Corvette has been somewhat controversial for its complete departure from what we’ve come to expect from the Corvette evolutions, Chevrolet did exceed our expectations in terms of design and power, but the extra little features they give us make the car just a little bit more special.
