The EcoDiesel Jeep Wrangler Will Reach New Heights
The EcoDiesel Jeep Wrangler and Gladiator are getting higher. They could become the tallest Jeep models you can have if you go for the new, optional lift kit that will put your Jeep Gladiator or Wrangler on a whole new level.
The EcoDiesel Jeep Wrangler/Gladiator is getting a new lift kit
While other models, like the Mercedes-Benz S-Class, received a three-inch lift kit to improve safety, the EcoDiesel Jeep Wrangler and Gladiator are going in a different direction.
Instead of to better distribute the crash forces of a side-impact for safety, the Wrangler and Gladiator are getting lifted to improve off-roading performance.

Jeep Performance Parts and Mopar are releasing a lift kit specifically designed for the EcoDiesel powered version of the Jeep Wrangler and Gladiator.
The kit will provide a 2” lift and was created because the 3.0-liter turbo-diesel engine is too heavy for the lift kit used for the four-cylinder and V6 Wrangler and Gladiator models.
The kit will include 2.5” Fox shocks that have been tuned for increased weight capabilities, durability, and cooling for a variety of quickly changing off-roading conditions. The kit will also include longer front lower control arms, retuned springs, and heavy-duty bushings.
Jeep claims that this kit should improve Jeep Wrangler and Gladiator articulation by 18% over the stock suspension and efficiently manage the extra weight of the EcoDiesel engine.
How to get an EcoDiesel Jeep Wrangler/Gladiator kit
Jeep currently claims that the new lift kits for EcoDiesel Jeeps will be available by the end of the summer. It will cost $1,495 before taxes and installation. Also, if buyers install 33” tires with their lift kit, they can have their speedometer and odometer recalibration for $125.
The EcoDiesel Jeep Wrangler lift kit requires no cutting, drilling, or welding as it’s a bolt-on accessory. Plus, the kit is protected by a two-year unlimited mile warranty or through the end of the Jeep three-year/36,000 mile warranty.
Is the EcoDiesel Jeep Wrangler/Gladiator worth it?
Yes, the Jeep Wrangler EcoDiesel engine is worth it. This provides the most fuel-efficient Jeep Wrangler yet, even though the hybrid 4xe version is coming. It’s only available with the four-door Jeep Wrangler and Gladiator and delivers about 25 mpg combined.
The 3.0-liter V6 turbo-diesel also delivers 260 horsepower and 442 lb-ft of torque. That is the most torque you’ll find in a Jeep and will provide more power for crawling over rocks. It also includes the all-terrain abilities such as skid plates, solid axles, and more, that the Rubicon trim offers.
On the pavement, the eight-speed automatic transmission and EcoDiesel engine provide a smooth ride. It delivers seamless gear changes, and the throttle response is perfect for off-roading too. The EcoDiesel Jeep is simply fun to drive.
Diesel engines are also noted to be better for towing heavier loads, requiring less maintenance and lasting longer than traditional gas engines. Picking the EcoDiesel engine with your Jeep Wrangler or Gladiator could be the best decision if you plan to be a long term owner.
