It’s no surprise that the 2019 Chevy Silverado 1500 was the truck awarded to the 2019 MVP of the All-Star game, Shane Bieber. After all, the Silverado is quite the MVP itself. How fast does it go? It can go from 0-60 mph in an astounding 5.7 seconds. The engine reaches those numbers due to a 2.7 liter DOHC turbo engine specifically made with 348 lb.-ft torque and 310 horsepower and has a 16-valve direct-injection design.

The dual-volute turbocharger helps by providing instant throttle response. Unlike the twin-scroll, interference is avoided by routing the airflow through scroll-shaped sections on each side of the turbine wheel. There’s also good news for vintage Chevy lovers. The Tri-Power system is back with this model.

There’s another fast chevy truck, too

The 2019 Chevrolet Colorado is the second-fastest Chevy truck, so if you’re looking for something a little different than the Silverado but still want speed, this is worth checking out.

With a 3.6L V6 engine that has 275 lb.-ft. torque and 308 horsepower, it’s combined with an 8-speed automatic transmission that moves the truck from 0-60 mph in 7.1 seconds. The acceleration is excellent, and the transmission has a smooth shift. This is true even when it’s towing. It’s also the most fuel-efficient mid-size pickup truck, offering 30 mpg on the highway. 

Changes to the 2020 Chevy Silverado 1500

The 2020 Silverado 1500 is quite impressive too. While the bed volume capacity and max available torque haven’t changed, the towing capacity has increased to 13,400 lbs. So has the mpg, with the EPA-estimated city at 23 mpg and hwy at 33 mpg.

There are still eight trim choices, but now there are six different powertrains, giving you even more options for engine power. It’s one of the most affordable truck on the market with over 400 hp. You’ll see new available technologies like new tailoring features and an Adaptive Cruise Control Camera. It’s only getting better.
