The Ford Bronco remains at the forefront of automotive news with the unveiling of the new Ford Bronco Everglades trim. This adventure-ready Bronco offers buyers tons of off-roading and overlanding features and equipment directly from the factory. This is a new venture for Ford, and people seem to be loving it. However, the Bronco Everglades trim does require buyers to give up the Bronco’s coolest feature. Is that worth it?

Can you get the 2022 Ford Bronco Everglades with a manual transmission?

Unfortunately, the Bronco Everglades will is not currently offered with a manual transmission. The Everglades edition only comes in the four-door model with the 2.3-liter EcoBoost four-cylinder engine and the ten-speed auto.

As Hagerty points out, the smaller engine typically allows you to spec the manual transmission, even with the Sasquatch package. Still, due to Ford’s unknown reasoning, the seven-speed can’t be paired with the Mid Package, which comes standard on the Everglades. Unless Ford makes a major update, the Ford Bronco Everglades won’t get a manual transmission.

This is kind of a shame because of how exciting it was to have another proper off-road SUV with a manual other than the Jeep Wrangler

Is giving up the manual worth it?

Starting at $54,495, the Everglades is on the top end of Bronco pricing. Although Ford makes us forgo the manual, the Everglades package does come with an awful lot of cool features and equipment.

The swampy new model comes with a factory-installed air snorkel, and a 10,000-lb Warn ZEON 10-S winch packing 100 feet of synthetic line. Aside from the winch and snorkel, the Everglades also comes with the illustrious Sasquatch package. The upgraded suspension and the 35-inch Goodyears paired with the snorkel raise the Bronco’s water-fording spec from 33.4-inches to 36.4 inches.

The Everglades still offers buyers more equipment like Ford Performance’s modular bumper and unique fenders. Lastly, this new model comes with its own special color unique to the model, Desert Sand. The interior also gets splashes of Sage Green to further the truck’s outdoorsy nature.

When will the Ford Bronco Everglades go on sale?

The model is technically available now, but there’s a catch. Ford isn’t allowing anyone to order the Everglades yet who doesn’t already have an existing order. This means that customers who have already ordered a different Bronco will have first dibs at changing their order for the up-trim model.

Ford has yet to announce when non-customers can order the new Bronco trim, but production is said to start in the summer of 2022. For now, we will have to wait and see how many order changes happen before Ford lets the Everglades into the open market. Until then, we can fawn over the photos and wait patiently for the day when Broncos aren’t trading for thousands of dollars over MSRP
