Ford hasn’t revealed many details about the Ford Transit EV yet, but we do know that it has things in common with the Mustang Mach-E because both vehicles will share the same platform.

What do we know about the Ford E-Transit?
While the Ford F-150 EV and Mustang Mach-E are built in the Rouge Plant in Dearborn, Michigan, the 2022 Ford E-Transit will be manufactured in Kansas City. The E-Transit should be available by the end of 2021.
Interest in the Electric F-150 has been strong enough to increase production by 50%, so Ford needs more workers. An additional 200 permanent positions will be added on top of 300 previously promised positions. Then Ford plans to invest $100 million and to hire 150 workers to build electric Ford Transit models.
The 2022 Ford E-Transit will be a part of the Ford mission to deliver affordable and capable vehicles instead of six-figure options. The van could perform well in areas that specialize in delivery services and among commercial fleets.

How capable is the 2021 Ford Transit Connect?
You can get started in a 2021 Ford Transit Connect for about $24,655. This is a pretty solid deal considering the number of standard features that are included. It comes with forward collision warning, automated emergency braking, a wifi hotspot, and more.
The base engine is a 3.5-liter V6 option with 275 hp and 262 lb-ft of torque. You can also upgrade to the 3.5-liter V6 engine for 310 hp and 410 lb-ft of torque. The Transit can tow up to 7,500 lb and carry a payload of up to 4,530 lb.
You can get the Ford Transit in rear-wheel drive or all-wheel drive. The suspension is smooth and appreciated during daily commutes and has a quiet interior that can fit up to 15 passengers. There are multiple configurations to choose from, but the maximum cargo volume is 487.2 cubic feet.
It’s safe to expect the Electric Ford Transit to be even more powerful for heavier loads. It may also come with standard AWD to take on its main rival, the adventurous Mercedes Sprinter. Plus, a whole new sleek and modern look will display its electric power.
