The Hennessey Goliath 6×6 Is About to Be One of the Rarest Trucks in the World
For those of you hoping to get an up-close look at the new Hennessey Goliath 6×6, don’t get your hopes up. With only 24 vehicles produced, sightings of this exclusive off-road monster pickup truck will be extremely rare.
Texas-based Hennessey High Performance has reconfigured the new quad-cab Chevrolet Silverado Trail Boss Z71 to fit the build of its customized Goliath 6×6. Why a Chevy? With the recent success of its Ford VelociRaptor 6×6, Hennessey Founder and CEO John Hennessey understands that many drivers stick with one brand. His designs aim to keep as close to stock as possible and concentrate on high performance.
Motor Trend describes the Goliath 6×6 as a highly modified, current-generation Silverado. Starting at $375,000, it has a build time of four to six months. Owning one will most certainly guarantee a slot in elite car-collecting circles.
The ultimate pickup with serious power
A Goliath 6×6 includes the donor Chevrolet Silverado Z71 body, which Hennessey crafted over its signature build. By adding a third axle and revised rear suspension — found on military and heavy industrial vehicles — Goliath 6×6 is today’s ultimate heavy-duty pickup.
The build starts behind the cab. Lengthened and fitted for Goliath, the extended fully-lined truck bed measures six feet by six feet and extends over the rear axle. Giant wheel-well openings allow the space needed for custom 20-inch wheels fitted with 37-inch BF Goodrich off-road tires. The two extra wheels and weight distribution over three axles provide more off-road traction.
An eight-inch lift kit and all-around shock absorbers add to the truck’s custom drive train layout. The 6.2-liter V8 engine provides 705 hp, with power train upgrades including cold air intake and stainless steel exhaust (for 0 to 60 in 4.5 seconds).
Hennessey added custom bumpers, newly upgraded anti-roll bars, LED lights, and fancy Hennessey signature graphics. The conversion to 6×6 adds about 2,000 more pounds of total body weight to the stock Silverado.
If $375,000 doesn’t make a big dent in your wallet, the Goliath 6×6 can come with an optional stroker engine upgrade, boosting horsepower to an incredible 808. Additional options include a Brembo brake system and custom interior features like embroidered signature Hennessey seats.
Hennessey limited editions
Hennessey Performance adds the brilliantly named Goliath 6×6 to an already impressive lineup of pickup conversions. Past successes include the VelociRaptor series of 6×6, Ranger, and V8, as well as the Ford Raptor truck. Hennessey explains, “These are very exclusive and unique vehicles that make a statement everywhere our clients go.”
As one of the most successful independent manufacturers in the world, Hennessey has turned his passion for racing and fast cars into a successful business venture. He designs and fine-tunes some of the fastest vehicles from the road and track.
The owner of Wisconsin’s largest potato farm purchased the first manufactured Goliath 6×6. (With an obvious need for speed, he also commissioned Hennessey to boost his Rolls Royce Wraith to 850 hp.) Another Goliath 6×6 is being produced, custom-fitted, and prepared for a buyer to travel across the Sahara Desert. Rare, indeed.
