Have you heard of the Hyundai Creta? It’s one cool Hyundai SUV that we need in America. It’s like a cute brother to the Hyundai Venue that would be a great competitor against the Nissan Kicks and Ford EcoSport. 

What is the Hyundai Creta? 

The Hyundai Creta is a confident-looking compact SUV that is sold in other countries, such as India, instead of the US. It looks like an edgier Hyundai Venue and a miniature Hyundai Palisade. It has that modern two-tone design too, with a roof that’s a different color from the body. 

If the Hyundai Creta was sold in the United States, it would be one heck of a deal with a starting price of around $18k. That would provide us with a fun SUV that’s actually affordable compared to more expensive options like the Toyota RAV4 that starts around $25k. 

Hyundai Creta Performance 

The Hyundai Creta has diesel engine options, including a 1.4-liter and 1.6-liter four-cylinder option. There is also a 1.6-liter four-cylinder engine variant. The most powerful option has an output of 1493 CCs. 

For a sporty drive, the Hyundai Creta is available with a 7-speed dual-clutch transmission, 6-speed manual transmission, and an intelligent variable transmission. It also has paddle shifters on the steering wheel to allow drivers to switch gears with the touch of a button.

The Hyundai Creta is also equipped with a variety of driving modes including, comfort, eco, sport, snow, sand, and mud. However, the Hyundai Creta does not come with all-wheel drive, so it may not be the best option for driving in snow. We would need to test the snow driving mode to determine its capability. 

Hyundai Creta Features 

Despite being an economy SUV, the Hyundai Creta has a refined, luxurious interior. The dash has a blend of plastic materials covered with a subtle grain and soft-touch materials and pops of color for an attractive look. 

The seats have a plush, quilted design for enhanced comfort too. The Creta has a cooling glove box to keep your drinks and snacks fresh on hot days. But one of the coolest features includes a voice-activated sunroof. Can you imagine impressing your friends and family by simply telling your sunroof to open? 

The Hyundai Creta has a 7” cluster display that displays navigation, your driving modes, and rear parking warnings. The 10” infotainment center can also connect to Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, and provides navigation and real-time traffic updates in HD. Plus, it comes with a USB port, 12-volt outlet, and a fast charger to power your favorite devices. 

Vehicle stability management and electronic stability control assist drivers with remaining safely in control of the vehicle. Hill assist control also prevents the Creta from rolling backward on steep inclines. The Hyundai Creta also comes with emergency braking to help avoid collisions. 

New spy shots have revealed a seven-passenger Hyundai Creta in Korea, but we probably won’t see that version in the United States either. Which is a shame, we could use an affordable SUV option that combines a sporty drive and comfortable ride.
