The Hyundai Ioniq 7 vs the Kia EV9: which will dominate?

Both the Hyundai Ioniq 7 and the Kia EV9 will be similar SUVs. They’ll probably appeal to the same customer base. That means that those who want an electric vehicle but need a little bit more space than the traditional electric SUV might be torn between the Kia EV9 and the Hyundai Ioniq 7.

Both the Ioniq 7 and EV9 are three-row SUVs, though we’ll have to wait to see exactly what they’ll look like and what they’ll include. Hyundai says the Ioniq 7 will be “family focused,” and about the same size as the best-selling Hyundai Palisade. The Kia EV9, on the other hand, is likely to resemble the Kia Telluride, although they won’t share a platform.

Both Hyundai and Kia are committed to rolling out electric vehicles in the coming years, and the Ioniq 7 and EV9 will be part of those lineups. The Hyundai Ioniq 7 is part of Hyundai’s plan to roll out 23 battery-operated electric vehicles by 2025. They want to have 10 electric cars in the United States by 2022. The Kia EV9 release is in line with Kia’s plan to release seven electric vehicles by 2027, beginning with the Kia EV6.

The Ioniq 7 price and EV9 price should be in line with one another

Hyundai Ioniq 7 vs Kia EV9 pricing should be similar. Although Hyundai hasn’t released official pricing yet, Top Electric SUV says that it’s likely to cost somewhere between $50,000 and $55,000. The Hyundai Ioniq 7 should have 2WD, with optional all-wheel drive. The base model engine will be capable of 308 hp and be able to get more than 300 miles of range from one charge.

Like the Ioniq 7, there’s no official Kia EV9 price yet. Top Electric SUV speculates that it will start somewhere around $50,000. If that proves to be true, it will be right in line with the Hyundai Ioniq 7, though it will be considerably more than competitor 2021 Volkswagen ID.4 with a starting price of $39,995

The Kia EV9 release date comes shortly after the Hyundai Ioniq 7’s release date

The Kia EV9 concept is making its own appearance on November 11, 2021. It will make its official debut at the Los Angeles Auto Show on November 17, 2021. As far as when you’ll actually be able to buy a Kia EV9, it should be released in the second half of 2023, so you have some time to evaluate whether you’ll want to buy one.

The Hyundai Seven concept vehicle will be revealed at the AutoMobility LA press conference on November 17, 2021. It will be on display at the show until November 28, 2021. Right now it appears that the Hyundai Ioniq 7 will be released in 2024.
