The Hyundai Palisade Calligraphy Trim Just Got Cheaper
If you really want the Hyundai Palisade Calligraphy trim, then it’s time to celebrate. Hyundai has decided to offer the Calligraphy trim at a lower price to make the most luxurious Palisade trim more accessible.
The Hyundai Palisade Calligraphy trim just got a price cut
According to AutoBlog, the Hyundai Palisade Calligraphy trim is becoming more affordable. This is the most expensive non-electrified Hyundai model. To make it more affordable, Hyundai has confirmed plans to release a front-wheel-drive version.
Currently, the Calligraphy trim is only offered with the Hyundai HTRAC all-wheel-drive system. This is great for those who live in areas that are prone to ice and snow, but it’s not so great for fans in warmer climates.
The Palisade Calligraphy trim begins around $48,925, which includes the mandatory destination fee. But the front-wheel-drive version will reduce the price by $1,700. This allows the Calligraphy trim to begin around $47,225 with the destination charge included. The only feature missing from the AWD models is the rear axle, according to AutoBlog.
What comes with the Calligraphy trim?
If you spring for the Calligraphy trim, you get 20-inch alloy wheels, unique front and rear signature LED lighting, and additional exterior trim additions.
Inside, you get a microfiber suede headliner, quilted Nappa leather door panels, and a perforated leather steering wheel. Four-way lumbar support and a driver’s seat footrest is also included for luxurious comfort.
In terms of tech, you get four 12-Volt DC outlets and a second-row sunroof. There is also a head-up display (HUD), a 10.3-inch touchscreen, and surround-view camera monitors.
The 2021 Palisade includes wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Plus, the trailer pre-wiring connectors have been upgraded from a four-pin setup to a seven-pin design.
Convenience features include heated and ventilated seats, automatic temperature control, a hands-free liftgate, brak assist, and break-resistant glass. A few safety features include blind-spot monitoring, land departure warning, distracted driver warning, and more.
Is the Palisade Calligraphy trim worth buying?
The 2021 Hyundai Palisade has an MSRP of $32,525. This price is before dealership markups have been factored in. Also, it’s a lot cheaper than the Calligraphy trim. The base model has cloth seats and less tech. But the main differences are between comfort amenities.
There is only one engine option with the Palisade, which is a 3.6-liter V6 engine that provides 291 hp and 262 lb-ft of torque. So, the Calligraphy trim doesn’t come with any extra power. When properly equipped, the Palisade can tow up to 5,000 lb.
When The Car Connection reviewed the Calligraphy trim, they praised it for feeling very soft and comfortable. They also noted that it provided a very smooth and quiet ride. But the Limited trim, which is $2,625 cheaper, met all of their needs just fine.
So if you want a plush ride, it’s totally worth it. But you can get the Hyundai Palisade without AWD and all that fancy tech and amenities for much cheaper. If you want the Calligraphy trim without AWD, you don’t have to wait much longer. It will be available for the 2021 model year.
