Hyundai seems to be releasing hit after hit when it comes to compact SUVs. The Sonata, Tucson, Santa Fe, and more are all incredibly popular options. But what about the Hyundai Venue? How does it compare to the competition? 

Don’t Pass On The Hyundai Venue 

The Hyundai Venue is a subcompact SUV that’s designed to compete against the Ford Ecosport, Nissan Kicks, and other smaller models. 

That’s why it starts off with a meager price around $17k. This is cheaper than the Nissan Kicks that starts around $18k and the Ford EcoSport, which starts around $19k. KellyBluebook awarded this SUV as the best-priced option in its class. 

Usually, lower prices don’t mean better quality, but this might not be true for the Hyundai Venue. 

It comes with a pretty good fuel economy and gets an average of up to 30 in the city and 32 mpg on the highway. This Nissan Kicks gets up to 36 mpg on the highway, and the EcoSport gets 29 mpg on the highway. So, the Venue isn’t the best or worst in this category. 

Hyundai Venue Power 

Now the Hyundai Venue doesn’t have the most power. It’s only equipped with a 1.6-liter four-cylinder engine with an output of 121 horsepower. 

This is pretty close to the Nissan Kicks, but with the EcoSport, you can get up to 166 horsepower. 

Due to this lack of power, the Hyundai Venue takes 8.6 seconds to go from 0 to 60 mpg. This is sluggish, but as a city car, you may not need to floor it quickly very often. 

The Hyundai Venue also doesn’t have all-wheel drive. This could make it more challenging to navigate through snow safely. However, this SUV does have a slow driving mode that Hyundai claims will help you remain in control in slippery conditions. 

This SUV is not designed for off-roading use, but the Kicks and EcoSport aren’t either. However, it’s snow driving mode does give it a leg up on the competition. 

Hyundai Venue Features 

The Hyundai Venue may be small, but it does have adequate cargo space. There is 18.7 cubic feet of cargo space behind the rear space and up to 39.7 cubic feet of cargo space total. 

The Ford EcoSport offers up to 50 cubic feet of cargo space, making it a much roomier little SUV. 

Also, the Hyundai Venue has an 8” touch screen infotainment center that is equipped with navigation. It can connect to Apple CarPlay and AndroidAuto, making it pretty modern.

The BlueLink car system will connect your Venue to your smartphone so you can start the engine, lock the doors, adjust the temperature, and more. 

Plus, the Venue is safe with standard features such as forward collision prevention, lane departure assistance, driver attention warning, and more. 

If your Hyundai senses that you’re driving drowsy or if you’re distracted, it will automatically let you know to regain your focus on the road. 

The Hyundai Venue may not be the biggest or the fastest, but it’s smaller size and nimble turning radius make it perfect for driving around the city. It’s also equipped with advanced features for a comfortable and safe ride.
