Are you ready to go off-roading in your Jeep Wrangler, Gladiator, Renegade, etc.? If you said no, that’s perfectly fine because there is a new Jeep Academy to help you quickly learn how to adventure. Check out what the Jeep Adventure Academy will teach you.

What is the Jeep Adventure Academy?

The Jeep Adventure Academy is a new driving school that Jeep created to help new Jeepers explore the wild without getting stuck in a pickle. The Jeep Academy is open to all Jeep owners as long as the model has four-wheel-drive.

That means you can take your old CJ-5, new Jeep Gladiator, or Jeep Renegade, even your Jeep Compass to participate in courses that are tailored and suited to your individual skill level. The Academy is held in off-road parks in three states to teach you the basics.

What will I learn at Jeep Academy?

You will learn how the four-wheel-drive system works, how to prepare yourself and vehicle for a trip into the wild, how to correctly read terrain, driving techniques, trail etiquette, and most importantly, safety tips.

The courses will be led by instructors from the Jeep Jamboree, a company that has organized Jeep adventures since 1953. The classes will be kept small to allow each participant to have enough time to learn hands-on techniques and ask questions. This course is pretty much for beginners. According to AutoBlog, Jeep expects that 50% of participants will be first-time off-roaders.

How can I attend the Jeep Adventure Academy?

Jeep has three events listed on its calendar for 2020. The first Academy will take place at the Holly Oaks Off-Road Vehicle Park in Holly, Michigan, from October 2 – 4, 2020. The park is about an hour away from Detroit and offers 113 acres of off-roading trails and terrain.

The second Academy takes place from October 9 – 11, 2020, in Seymour, Missouri. It will be located at the SOuthern Missouri Off-Road Ranch in the Ozark Mountains, with 943 wood acres that include rocky hills and streams.

The third Academy event will take place in Hollister, California, from October 16 – 18, 2020. It will be held at the Hollister Hills SVRA, which features over 6,800 acres of various terrain. It’s about an hour south of San Jose.

Pricing begins around $99 for a single day session, but remember, you need to bring your own Jeep! The price includes all the necessary permits, land-use fees, coffee, lunch, and some Jeep merchandise swag.

Participants are allowed to bring one guest, but bringing a pet along is strongly discouraged. Sorry, Fido, you can go on the next adventure. And most importantly, students are responsible for taking care of their Jeeps. Jeep will not cover any damage, including dents and flips.

Word on the street is that the Jeep Academy is quickly selling out. So, if you’re interested, you better select which day you want to attend now. Also, for a two-day, more family-oriented four-wheel-drive adventure, sign up for the Jeep Jamboree. Kids under five can attend for free!
