The Jeep Renegade Goes After the Ford Bronco Sport With More Variety
There are big things in store for the 2021 Jeep Renegade as Jeep focuses on adding more options to compete against the new Ford Bronco Sport. While the Ford Bronco has 200 aftermarket accessories, the Jeep Renegade is gaining new trim levels.
The 2021 Jeep Renegade gains new trim options
First of all, Jeep is celebrating its 80th birthday! Go ahead and eat a cupcake or something to celebrate. One of the new Jeep Renegade trims is a commemorative one to celebrate, while the other two are Jeep Wrangler hand-me-down options.
The Jeep Renegade Freedom
One of the new Jeep Renegade trim options includes the Freedom. We can speculate based on the military history of Jeep that this will be a military-like Jeep Renegade. Perhaps it will have an Army Green shade of paint or a tan sandstorm-like option.
Jeep started this whole Easter egg trim in vehicles, too. So, it’s safe to expect hidden military themes such as the American flag or original Willys-Overland CJ Jeep. Also, when we hear freedom, we think of the freedom to go anywhere.
The Jeep Renegade Freedom will have to come with some off-roading chops. We expect 4×4 to be included along with large rugged tires. It will include badges, darker wheels, and grey interior accents to go after the rugged look of the Ford Bronco Sport.
The Jeep Renegade Islander
The Jeep Wrangler is one of the most fun vehicles to have at the Jeep, so maybe the Jeep Renegade Islander will step up the excitement. What do you do on an island? You take your top off. So, the Jeep Renegade Islander may have a larger sunroof or removable top that other options don’t have.
Also, Island life comes with fun, tropical colors. We’ve already seen the shade of Hydro Blue on the Jeep Gladiator, so maybe it’s coming to the Renegade. The islander may have paradise inspired Easter Eggs too.
The Jeep Renegade 80th Edition
The Jeep Gladiator and Jeep Wrangler are getting a special 80th Jeep Anniversary package that might be available on the Jeep Renegade too. However, the Jeep Renegade could surprise us with a trim option instead.
Rumors have suggested that the Jeep Renegade Jeepster will return. Perhaps the Jeepster will celebrate the history of Jeep with unique style elements. However, the Jeepster was a car, and the 80th Anniversary Jeep package focuses heavily on upgrading off-roading power.
More 2021 Jeep Renegade updates
We won’t find out about the official 2021 Jeep Renegade updates until they are revealed on September 1st, 2020. Until then, we only have rumors to go off of. One rumor includes the Jeep Renegade 4xe, which is a hybrid plug-in model. Jeep has suggested that each of their models will have a hybrid option by 2022.
Also, there haven’t been any rumors that suggest the Jeep Renegade will receive a more powerful engine. The 2.4-liter four-cylinder engine could remain as the standard option, with the ability to upgrade to the more robust 1.3-liter turbo four-cylinder option for $1,400.
